Upcoming Race Events (CT area) - May June
In the next few weeks there will be some good racing events in our area.
Friday night may 28th Stafford Springs has the Whelen Modifieds. These guy always put on a good show. www.staffordspeedway.com
On Saturday May 29th and Monday the 31st Lime Rock Park will be hosting the Grand-Am cars. On Saturday there will be 3 events - The Continental Tire Challenge, The Mustang Challenge Series and the BFGoodrch/Skip Barber National Series.
On Monday The Grand-Am cars go and will include the Rolex Daytona Prototypes. Gate prices are $35 for Saturday and 50 for Monday. If you get your tickets at AAA they're $22 & $30. www.limerock.com
The NHRA will be at Englishtown on Friday June 11 - 13. This is the most amazing show in racing. These cars go from 0 to 100 MPH in 0.8 of a second! If anyone knows how to score discount tickets please let me know. I usually go on Friday (under the tree, John Force hat) since the crowd is somewhat reduced and the cars usually put down their best times since qualifying starts during the late afternoon (cool air). www.racewaypark.com

For the past years, we been going to LRP for the memorial day vintage races. Although the Grand-Am cars might be fast, they have not the same "charisma" as the howling vintage racers. Sadly no trip to LRP until September.

If you're a veteran LRP lets you in for free this Friday, Saturday and Monday (28th, 29th & 31st). Todd are you listening?

Is there a listing on the web of all car shows/race events for the spring/summer?

Starting July 1st through September 2nd, Mohegan Sun hosts a classic car show every Wednesday night with fireworks on the top level of their parking garage.
Here's another good source for New England events....

Racing at LRP was great yesterday. The Car Corral parking was another fiasco as usual, and the place really is a dust bowl on a dry day.
I get a feeling though the "kit cars" are not welcome for some reason...

I was getting the same impression last year when you were trying to put something together for us getting some track time. Even the 'Show of Shelbys' on Labor day we get relegated to the back nine. They're good for taking our cash, but glass cars don't rate at the 'Rock'. Better to drive up in the BMW and maybe join that club for track time. See you at Duchess in two weeks.

The NHRA is at Englishtown next weekend (11 - 13). "I'll be there on Friday (Exit 8A to 230 Pension Road in Englishtown).
Sunday is the Long Island Cobras drive to a vinyard on the North Fork. Weather permitting Noreen and I will be in attendance.
