Default How do you title and or register a CobraReplica in MA

Help. I recently just lost out on SP Cobra as it took too long to find out if a SP Cobra, titled as 2005 with a Ford Racing crate engine could be indeed registered in Mass. I am in posession of the Bill that just passed but cannot find what is current and or how best to go about bringing such a car into Mass. There seem to many conflicting stories on how to go about it. Any insights or links to where the reference material may be available would be a great help. Thanks all.

Default Registration in MA

I originally registered my ERA as a "2002 Replica of a 1965 AC" and that is what the title says. With the new SEMA based inspection legislation I am able to qualify for the "safety inspection only, no emissions test". I believe that all will be good if you do this also.
Trying to register it as a "1965 Cobra" is not only illegal but could lead to high sales tax (as one registration employee asked me, what is an original 1965 Cobra worth at 6.5% tax) and a yearly Excise Tax in the thousands.

Might want to check the Registration Forum for any additional MA info:

Default Thanks

I live in West Dennis, may have seen you driving around. Thanks for the insight. I havent had much luck getting information. I am not that interested in titling a replica as '65. If could get an orginal that would be different. Thnks again, Craig.
