In my case, I set up my insurance with Mid West Classic.
After my accident I called the number on the insurance card that was sent to me. A couple days later I received an email with a claim number. The email was from a representative at a company called American Home Insurance. All of my dealings with this accident have been with American Home Insurnace. I have not heard a word from Mid West.
I use commerce insurance for my other vehicles and in the event of an accident, they send out an adjuster to my house (or where ever the car is located) the next day to get the ball rolling. These guys have been no help telling me that it is my responsibility to find a shop that can work on it, tow it to them and then have them contact the insurance adjuster to figure out what repairs and costs are needed.
Not a good system. My car has been sitting in my garage for a month tomorrow with nothing done to it and I have not heard a word from the insurance company since I called them 3 weeks ago. I called and left him a message 2 weeks ago and I still have not heard back.

I am confident that they will work with the body shop to get all the repairs done and paid for but it is not a good system and the customer service is pretty much terrible.

It's not a good system, but you're stuck with it. Sometimes agents will help you work through a claim with your own carrier; sometimes not. Sometimes there's not a lot they can do -- once there's a loss, it's all between you and the insurance carrier. What you need to do is keep calling your insurance company (and keep a log of each time you call/leave an unreturned voicemail/etc.) until you speak with the adjuster. Do you have a friend who is a lawyer? Or a relative that is a lawyer? If you can't get a return call from your own carrier, a fax from a lawyer will usually do the trick to wake them up. Plus, it never hurts to hear a run-down on some of the angles that you might not be thinking about. Stuff like diminution of value claims, how the different parts of your policy play in, who's fault the accident might be, and so on, and so on. I don't know whether you're in a no-fault state or an "old fashioned" fault state (like mine), but there are a lot of nuances to even a simple cheapo (say, under $50k damage) claim. And, trust me, insurance companies are not your friend... even when they're your insurance company.

Kevin, just for clarification, when you mention American Home Insurance, is this the same company mentioned on the policy details as American Modern Home Insurance from Cincinnati OH, with a claim phone number of 800-543-2644 ?
I have a policy with the full name mentioned above , but the Agent is Northeast Classic Auto based in Monroe CT. Never filed any claims, but the CT agent has been very responsive in answering questions, etc.
If so, is the policy named " Elite Collector Auto Policy " ?

Biggest issue with providers in MA. is they have to be licensed in the state and the reputable and stand up providers like Grundy or Peacock are not licensed in the state.
Let us know how the outcome is, at the best at least others can learn about this provider and their shortcomings for future reference.

ON this webpage of theirs it states Ma. and Sc Excluded? Do you have a link showing coverage in Ma? It may be new I know 3 years ago when I was looking they would not cover Compulsory section of insurance so they would cover partial but you had to get another provider for what they could not cover which defeats the purpose.

Free Quote CUSTOMER TESTIMONIAL: Bryan, I just wanted to drop a line about our trip from El Paso to the Goodguys Scottsdale show. This was the first trip on the newly completed 1933 all-steel Chevrolet... Our conversations on this excursion did not include "what if this happens." I knew all along that the coverage you provide would get us back safely. Thanks again for providing more time to enjoy life, less time spent on worry.

I don't want to comment on the various insurance policies, but as a BDR customer, CK should have access to a replacement body or nose from the manufacturer or dealer at reasonable cost. If you cannot buy replacement parts, why buy the car in the first place.

I'm in Mass. and fully insure both my Austin-Healeys with Grundy, liability and comprehensive. My latest letter from them lists Marina Zeccardi in the "Massachusetts and South Carolina Department" The insurer is Mount Vernon Fire Insurance Company. Thankfully, haven't had to make a claim, but their service otherwise has been fine. Only drawback is having to mail your registration off to them to get an insurance stamp, but they are prompt about returning it. Before Grundy, I'd carry compulsory with a local agent and comprehensive with a collector car company, but switched to Grundy when they became fully licensed in MA. Seems like it's longer than 3 yrs ago, but not exactly sure when I started with them.

Thanks for the info I will have to check into them when my policy comes due next year.
Haven't had any issues nor claims with my current provider out of NJ.

I remember speaking with Robbin before I moved out of Massachusetts and he specifically told me that they didn't cover cars in Mass. . . .
I wonder if that has anything to do with the speed in the processing of your claim?

CK has access to whatever he needs. The factory will provide whatever percentage of the body the shop requests from 5% to 100%.

Any good corvette restoration place may be an idea as they are fiberglass cars as well.
Word of mouth and verification of a job well done from the recipients will be the best bet I think,
