Wiers Beach Show
I dropped by the show at Lobster Pound today around 12:00. Had my Hi-Tech but wasn't planning to enter the show because I had an earlier commitment. But then I saw Ron's CSX, Art's green F5, John's SPF, another F5, and Sage showed up with his ERA.
Pretty nice bunch of Cobras (particularly the red ones ) so I decided to stay. Got to do a close comparison with Ron's car, which was my first chance to see a CSX car up close. His is a beauty. The Hi-Tech compares very well, and depending how you look at it, might be a better buy...at least it was for me...it's very cool to be able to say you have an original Shelby, but it comes at a price that I couldn't afford.
I did envy some of the details on his car that need a bit more work on mine. He has hex-head bolts on the gas cap frame, round bases on the hood latches, fuel pumps in the trunk, a puke tank, ferrules for side curtains, and original mag Halibrands.
I can feel Nick smiling when he reads this.
Anyway, it was a pleasant surprise to see everyone and a fun couple of hours.
Bill

Wish that I had timed my visit to New Hampshire better. I was just in Weir's beach about 3 weeks ago visiting my brother. Took my ERA there and as the only cobra in town. Probably will be a while before I end up in NH again.

Good eye for the details Bill. You'll be a "rivet counter" before you know it. Remember though you can't see any of those details when they are driving by. Sounds like a good gathering, sorry I missed it. I did get to see a little gold one run though.

Hey Sage that may be a possibility if I have it finished and running and the new owner wants to show it off again.

Nick, tell 198's new owners that 198 would be in the center of all of 198's offspring. That would make a nice poster for any shop, even the new owners.

Nick, when you say "run," does that mean the engine fired and actually propelled the little gold one down the road?

Yes Bill it starts, runs and drives. I was making sure it stopped. If we can get both of Bills red ones there that ups the red count.

Hi Bill,
I'd be happy to help you with the SPF as I don't think my car will be ready for the cookout
