CT Law: Plates & Muffler
From the Nov 17th Journal Inquirer
" Vernon Police Dept & Metro Traffic Services Unit.......failure to display front and rear marker plates, fine of $75. " " Police also remind motorists that the fine for installing a muffler that causes excessive or unusual noise has been increased to $150 and also requires inspection. " Motorists may be stopped at the MTS checkpoint for the above two infractions during seat belt checks. |
I remember a few years ago when DMV made us get rid of the front plates. Regardless, we all know it's not about safety or quality of life, it's about raising money.

Even the inspectors at DMV warned me to put my front plate on as it would only cause me to be a target if I did not. I passed DMV
noise test with side pipes that are slightly baffled. Still sounds great when you get on it. joe Thinking OF Stealing MY Cobra I killed Once Before The Second Time Will be Easier |
Front License Plate Bracket
Purchased my bracket from:
Mikes Custom Cobra Parts 16 Noyes St Norton MA 02766 508-226-2265 www.mikescustomcobraparts.net katam25@attbi.com Price was $25 plus shipping.Top bracket installs in the directional light housing between the light and gasket, either side. Fabricated a brace to extend the bottom bracket and attach to the frame, made for a neat installation, Prefer to not have had the front license plate, but agree, would have been a reason for being stopped or cited for the infraction at a seat belt checkpoint which appears to be happening more frequently |
