David,
Don't take my comment the wrong way. I'm not making any remarks about the quality of a CSX car. I don't have much experience at all with them, so I don't know. All I'm saying is that to some, it's worth the extra $$$ to have a CSX.
If you want performance training, come autox'ing with me next year. Yes, it's low speed. But it'll give you a good chance to push the Cobra in a safe environment and learn what it'll do at the limits of adhesion. And it's a damn good thing you don't have a cupholder. You'll spill your drink on that fancy carpet.

I'm just twisting 'em Steve! AutoX sounds like Good Fun and I will certainly give it a shot. I personally loved the FFR video and really gave them great consideration in my studies. I considered keeping the GT500 and building a FFR. But along came a 69 Mach1, Good deal on the CSX, the GT500 had gone up enough in value to cover the difference, so in one Day I sold the GT500 and Ran to Connecticut that night to get the CSX. I am happy with my decision and I still have a very cool Mach1 that the Original owner left me when he passed away. So I am a very Happy Man who has two wonderful "Extra" Cars. I am very fortunate and thankful for my situation. My best friend moved to Collegeville this year about 5 blocks from the CVS. I will be up around there in the CSX soon enough. I have another friend in Skippack with 7 Shelby's! Each one is Gorgeous. He is anxious to see this car as well. I bet that little boy is growing quick on you. we will get together soon. Have a Great Christmas!

Hi: I spent a couple of months looking over the various kit manufacturers and decided upon ERA. Mine should be ready for paint and carpeting within the next 2 or 3 weeks. A major consideration in my choice were the suspension options offered by ERA as I did not want my teeth to rattle when I hit bumps and I hate bump steer. I went with the ERA special IRS rear end with coils all around and big 12.3 inch rotors/4 piston Sierra calipers in front and 12 inch rear outboard brakes. The cars engine is being built by Joe Lapine, Danbury Competition Engine, in Danbury, CT. (203)748-7356. The engine he is building will be an alloy Shelby 427 block (468 C.I.D.) with a bunch of great stuff inside and will put out about 500 horse at the flywheel and 500 Ft. Lbs. of torque at about 3500 RPM's. Another consideration was that ERA is only about a 35 minute drive from my home which is about 100 feet from the Somers , CT line. I had orginally contracted CSE to build the motor but that's another story. As it turns out, I will get a better Shelby block motor from Joe Lapine and for about $5k less. If you want to see the car before it's finished go to ERA (#695) or contact me after 1/15/05. Good luck and keep in mind what all have said here, the only right choice depends soley upon what you want.

Yo Adrian: I bet you get that all the time. I'm not exactly sure what you are asking me but that's probably because I'm ignorant.

Go to www.cobracountry.com , find a nice used whatever, lowball the seller since it's the middle of winter and be on the road with the rest of us in April.

Most used Cobras are in great shape since for many it's all about cruising and not about beating the hell out of the machine.

Just my $0.02 worth.
