Default Need Quality NE Shop to Narrow Rear End

Need Quality Shop to Narrow Rear End

Greetings! I’ve fallen into the oft frequented pit of not properly understanding wheel rim back-spacing. With a new set of Trigo pin rims and nice wide tires mounted on them I find that the rear end must be narrowed in order for the tires to fit properly under the rear fender wells. Unfortunately, here in the tundra of Vermont just a few miles from the Canadian border the primary tools used by local automotive modification shops consists of one large sledge and a dull axe! My desire is to find an experienced and quality shop within a 250 mile radius to narrow the rear end. My intention is to drive the Cobra to the shop for these modifications.

Do any of you New England Cobra enthusiasts care to recommend an experienced and quality shop able to perform the needed rear end narrowing? If you don’t know of a specific shop I’d appreciate any leads in that direction. A post here, private message, email, passenger pigeon, ….anything! I’m desperate after walking into too many dirt floor shops and having the grinning owner suggest a three hundred mile test drive to check out the problem!

Ken

Give my friend a call. He has a really good shop.
He can do it but its a long haul down here (south of Boston).

Maybe he can help with a more local shop.

Warren,

Thank you very much for your considerate reply. The shop you suggested in in fact the one I had chosen to do the work. The long drive was worth the quality work.
