Default Cobras In the Mountains of VT

Just got word that the "Ye Olde England Inne" in Stowe, VT will be having a Cobra event this year. It is called "Cobra's in the Mountains" on July 22, 23 and 24th. AC Cobras and Replicas are invited. For additional information, contact Chris Francis at 802-253-5320 or by email at chris@englandinnstowe.com

Ye Olde England Inne
433 Mountain Road
Stowe, VT 05672

I just saw this on a poster which was at a classic car event and jotted the information down. I do not have any further details.

I'll be there, since it's in my hood

It's a gorgeous area of Vermont with some perfect cruising roads. Should be an awesome gathering!

More info here

Chris Francis also runs the British Invasion every fall in Stowe and it is a well run event that gets bigger every year. I'll be contacting him to try to get a web site up for the Cobra event. Stowe is now a four seasons resort town so once the info is posted I'd recommend getting accomodations early as the town can be quite full even in the summer.

Hey a fellow VT-er! Hope to see you there Chuck. Not sure if I'm staying at the Inne yet or doing day trips... how about you? What's your plan of attack?

Should be an awesome event, and more info on the web about it would be a plus.

John I lived in Stowe for 10 years and moved to Williston (25 minutes away) about two years ago. I plan on commuting and I'll bring the trailer and leave it in the High School parking lot if the weather is threatening. There are a lot of hotels in Stowe in every price range. The cruising and evenings in town should be a pretty good time. Stowe has hosted several HOG rallies in the past so the noise shouldn't get the town police too excited. Every August turns the downtown area into a big car show during the Stowe Antique Car show and Friday and Saturday evenings downtown are as good as the formal show. Should be a really fun time, but if he doesn't advertise soon I'm not sure how much of a turnout he will get a week after the Summer Fun Run at Lake George. Anyone wanting more info on what is available in Stowe should try this site. http://www.gostowe.com/calendar/index.php

Sounds like a good time. Do they have this every year? Too close to home not to attend.

Starting to sound like a good showing! Hopefully there'll be more info online shortly about the schedule of events.

The Lake George Run sounds good too... but I think that's going to have to wait till next year - already doing a track date on my anniversary- so, I have to tread lightly on the summer schedule.

What's the Lake run like? How many days? How long does it take to get there from these parts? (roughly).

Hope to arrive at Stowe in company of five other snakes. One other from Vermont, two from Quebec, and two more from Maine. Sounds like it might be a goodly gathering!

Lurk - Lake George is ~ 1.5 hours from us. Nice ride through Ticonderoga down the west side of the lake. I was thinking of doing a one day cruise over if your interested. I need to get in touch with you on your inspection guy as soon as I get the new Canton oil pan on. Also just installed a 4 post lift in my shop. Springs finally here !!

My inspection place is Northern Motorsport on Route 5 in Wilder (802) 296-2099. Not sure what your particulars are, but mine was a breeze as my Cobra is registered as a '65. They take care of another guy's Superformance nearby, and a fleet of 20 or so Bugattis in the hands of a serious local collector, including a +/- $20 miilion T57SC Atlantic Coupe, so... I figure my fakey-doo is in good hands!

If you come down this way, be sure to let me know- as I am just down the road.

Chris sent me a link to a site for Cobras in the Mountains that has some more details on the event. Now the hard part: figuring out which day(s) to go!

Default Thanks!

I posted some of the info on this event back in January on the Upcoming Events forum. Glad to see that it's getting some attention. I know Chris Francis at the Inne in Stowe personally and I can almost guarantee that he'll be making it worth everyone's while to attend.

Default cobras in the mountains

My wife just booked us a room for the cobras in the mountains. I hope many of you are doing the same. I'm looking forward to a great time!

I will be there Saturday early AM through Sunday AM, spending Saturday night. Possibly in a tent depending on room availability (hint: book early)

...is it ok if I use one of your guys' bathroom while I'm there?

Just kidding of course... (maybe)

Look forward to seeing you guys there.

For those people who are local enough to "commute" for this event ( a few of us <30 minutes away) ChuckG is trying to get a day price from Chris so we can enjoy the weekend and sleep in our own beds. Stay tuned if you're interested.

I thought about that option Tim, being more like an hour away, but figured after a day of driving with a pack of Cobras I would be VERY thirsty! So I'm still working on the Saturday night stay. I'll let you know when I hear anything.
