Connecticut Weather Sucks!

Well it's May 23 and the temperature is still in the 50s. It has rained almost every weekend this spring and in 4 weeks the days start getting shorter. Could there possibly be a better place than this to own a Cobra?

By the way, the forecast is for rain the rest of the week!

Bob

Hey Bob, I'm in Clinton, CT. so I can relate. If the weather breaks, lets get together. I have a cobra I bought last fall and I'm just dying to put some miles on it. Mike

hey,littlecobra 05-23-2005 06:42 PM

spring is over. Summer is in full swing. 101 yesterday, only 98 today. Sweating just walking from house to garage to car. yuck.
:( Rain?? what's that???

hot, humid, sticky. hot. Bad cobra weather. Have to start meeting for breakfast group by 7, so we can get home by 10, before it gets to 100. :( hot all day. high 80's at night. A nice break.

the grass, er, weather is better on the other side of the country, er fence. :D

Cobrabill 05-23-2005 09:02 PM

104 here today.

Bob,my brother lives in Newington and says you folks haven't seen the sun for 5 weekends in a row.

Ct.......a nice place to be far from.

thorconstr 05-24-2005 03:35 AM

The forecast is rain for the rest of our lives. Fortunately my engine is out of my car for a few days so I'm not quite as unhappy, but I can relate. Rain makes me a bit grouchy after about 15 minutes of the stuff!

trularin 05-24-2005 04:33 AM

Bob, I know what you mean, I am in Michigan and I get it just before you do.

I have had the car out maybe four times.

How about some 60 or 70 degree weather?????

Ron61 05-24-2005 05:17 AM

It was 94 here yesterday and I mowed for 6 hours. Now I am so sun burned I can hardly stand to put on a shirt. But it is supposed to be headed for the high 90s and maybe the low 100s by the end of the week. Some what humid but not as bad as usual. Definately not good Cobra driving weather unless you like a rolling Sauna. Ah!! California weather. :) :D

Ron

We went out for a nice ride last Saturday Morning proir to the showers in the afternoon on the long cruise which we call the "water route".

We take RT15 to the RT 58 North exit (Hi-Ho).
Go up 58 along the reservoirs.
Take a right on RT 302 Towards Newtown.
When 302 meets 25 North go Left on 25 North.
At the Newtown Flagpole take a right on 32 South.
Follow 32 South, over the Dam and along the Housitonic River.
32 Brings you back to 15.

A nice one hour+ loop with some great views.

Looks like this weekend coming up is going to be a wet event
but there are 3 days so we should be able to get out between the rain drops.

Fingers Crossed.

And RON61 ... stifle yourself. We do not want to hear about your longitudinal advantages.

Geez, maybe there IS SOMETHING that Southern California has that makes it worth living here:o) Personally, I prefer the mid-west and the seasonal changes in the weather. I'm VERY fond of warm rains! Last year, if I recall correctly, we went over 100 straight days with no rain. Bummer!

trularin 05-24-2005 07:43 AM

What is with the CA group?

Got to rub it in?? Yes we know you all are having great weather and it isn't raining.

:LOL:LOL:

Ron61 05-24-2005 07:56 AM

Hey,

Wehave our fair share of rain up here and they are having to let water out of the lake because it is full and more is coming down from the mountains. And then when we have Summer, no Spring, it is 110+ and humid so that isn't good driving weather either. We have to enjoy what nice days we get. Northern Calif. is not like Southern Calif. in the weather department. I remember living in Santa Barbara, Fresno, and other places down there and believe me, over all I will take our weather up here.
There is a nice breeze blowing right now and it is only supposed to get to around 90 today. :D :3DSMILE:

Ron  :)

Tru:

They are just getting their SAN's mixed up....

Out weather now is alot more like SAN FRANSISCO's rather than
SAN DIEGO's...

For now...

Chaplin 05-24-2005 08:03 AM

Bob-
Move to NJ, the weather is so much better here:rolleyes:

WesB 05-24-2005 08:42 AM

I am with Jim Barnett here in Southern Calif. The weather is perfect right now! Just got to find that SB100 car so I can get busy driving it! I live alittle north of Jim in Costa Mesa and it has actually been somewhat cooler here than San Diego. As for Ron 61, I went to highschool in Orland and college at Chico State. Man it gets hot up there! I moved back down here after college and bought along the beach before prices went crazy. I will deal with the crazy stuff in Calif beacause the rest of it is pretty nice.

It's May 26th. 56 degrees, no sun, lots of wind. Forecast for the next 5 days the same. It's going to be a short summer!

BOB-- ARE YOU SURE YOU DON'T LIVE IN NORTHERN OHIO???

LURK 05-26-2005 01:59 PM

8th day of rain up here in VT. Roads were dry all day... watched from my office window, with hopes of a cloudy but dry run in the Cobra. Got home... boom... rain. Think I'm going start an Ernie post just to have something to do

Joe Prochazka 05-26-2005 03:18 PM

Clear, dry and 78-80 degrees here in RSM.............I really must stop driving the Cobra in flip flops:p

P Martin 05-26-2005 04:07 PM

I feel like I should be talking with a british accent! I'm starting to think cloudy, 55 degrees and little drizzle isn't too bad:LOL:

Lowell W 05-26-2005 05:42 PM

In the fall of nineteen and seventy...what was it...eight?...several lifetimes and careers ago, when I was in the Electric Boat welding school at Quonset Point, RI, as I recall it rained 8 or 10 weekends in a row. I feel your pain... ;)

Lots of water over the dam but I'll be back for a visit in July. Hope it's stopped raining by then!

Lowell
