Default Southbury Car Show 9/17

Hello All:

Weather is looking much better THIS Sunday (vs. Lime Rock weekend) and there's a pretty awesome looking car show in Southbury, CT.

Was going to meet some friends at Guida's Dairy on Rte. 66 in the A.M. and run up from there. Any takers???

I'm out for a wedding this weekend. But that has been a favorite show for me every year (grew up in Southbury). They don't really have a good breakdown of classes so you will be lumped in with street rods... but worth the trip anyway.

If you can make it, a nice end of summer event.

Default Car Show Snobs...

Just wanted to give an update to those who couldn't get out to the Southbury Car show this Sunday. The weather made for a perfect drive out and the cars were plentaful but Cobras (replicas that is) were NOT allowed into the show. Although I was a little bummed about this, they did give me a nice parking spot behind the back row in a grassy area in the shade. A few other cars were already parked there when I rolled in, a Mach I Mustang and an Opel GT (apparently didn't make the 1971 cut off). Anyway, as I said, there was a bevy of nice antiques to look at and walked the entire show in a few hours (no original Cobras in the show either by the way). So as I headed back to where they parked my car, there was another 5 or 6 Cobra's parked next to mine. It was like our own little car show. And, if you can believe it, we had a bigger crowd around our cars than any other lot of cars IN the show! Go figure. Anyway, when we all pulled out together, the looks from inside the show fence were like the Presidents motor-cade pullin' through. AWESOME!! Maybe next year they'll give us our own "Replica Class".
