Clark.....Congratulations, first time I have seen that someone actually obtained an exemption.

Can you clarify:

*** With a 2001 registration, the Emissioin Standards indicated on your Vehicle Inspection Report would be HC 800 and CO 4.00. Correct or ?

*** Do you recall the phone number of the Emission's contacts to schedule them at the specified garage test site ?

*** They reviewed the test data verifyed that the motor was a FE and wrote a 2-year Exemption.

Any other comment on the process used to verify the type and year of engine ? As an example I have a pre-1974 351W block, do you know how they would authenticate ?

..........thanks

Don;
I'll go over my paper work this evening, and give the particulars.

Don; The 800 HC and 4% NO is correct. The waiver is located on the link below, the names of the Inspectors are located on the bottom. Hope this helps guys!

Mags427,
Sorry I didn't respond to your question on my 427 FE much earlier. The engine is a CO with solid lifters that Joe bored and stroked. It was not a marine block. Joe would not sleeve an engine if he did not think that in the long run it would hold up. He is just not that hungry to take a chance with a well earned reputation. A few of his engines reside in million dollar historical Ford race cars.
