You could contact ERA and ask if they have sold some replacement parts for car #484, that's an option

I've tried through Peter and no luck.... it was around for a while, I just hope she's safe and unmolested lol.

Cash has been ready for years believe me, I'd go anywhere on this earth to get her back...... it had to be done at the time unfortunately, but it's one of those things that never should have left my possession.... my dad and I spent my childhood building that car, and I deserve to own it and reflect back on those fond times.

You could put a finders fee on it, that's always a good incentive and a way to shake things up, just my 2 cents.

Did your father ever actually title it with the state dmv in his name? If so, what state, what's his name, and approximately what year?

Lewis Cohen

Original Owner from Massachusetts and got it titled originally with the DMV

I'm talking to my mom this week to see if we have anything at the house

I remember (I was 10) it was titled as a 1966, he did some trickery at the DMV....

He passed away in 2003, it was on the road sometime around 1998-2002 in his name IIRC.... I was young (10-12 when it was built, 16 when he passed) so the exact timeline escapes me but I will try to clarify soon

You don't have a shot from the rear showing the license plate that was on there at one time, do you?

I can't find it. Shoot me a PM if you come up with a VIN and maybe I can help you find it then.

Default One nice car with custom work

zacincceo Zac finding someone in motor department or a policeman will be needed. The custom hood and dash are special on this car for shore. I see and know how much this car means but the current owner my not want to sell it for no money. This car stands out in a crowd. It's hard to believe that nobody has not seen it. Instead of waiting for something that may not show, why not build a new one with your family like the ones in the pictures. It's not the same but it's the thought more than perfect cloning. You have pictures of the car. This makes it easier to duplicate. Maybe you can stop kicking yourself and find some peace. Good luck either way. Rick L. ps I have never sold any of my toys, they are all in the back yard. One day would like to restore a couple of them to new.

Come on Rick . . . you want him to build a replica replica? I thought Evan's replica would be the first to have that honor.

p.s. I will give you a call tonight or tomorrow night.

Rick - DMV/Police is the reasons I was hoping someone would take my cash offer up and try to track it down...

Building another is easy, I can call peter and have it done at the drop of a hat. The fact however that I riveted in the floor panels myself at the age of 8, picked out just about every single detail of that car and the emotional memories attached makes it impossible to replace.

Finding the owner is the hard part, getting him to sell it to me is honestly not what I am concerned with. Everyone has their price, and obviously mine in regards to this is higher then theirs, period, end of story. Now hopefully that comment won't lead to future extortion, but that's life.

If you can get me a VIN, I think I can find it. If you can't find the title info on the car that has the VIN on it, check your old insurance policies, they will have the VIN on the declarations sheet up front. If you can't find them, call your insurance agent and see if he can look back for the policies. Look in your dad's old tax folders to see if there is an old sticker or receipt for personal property tax, or the little slip that comes with a state inspection, etc.

Good luck!

That dash is incredible...as is the painting on the underside of the hood.

There are a lot of us Cobraphiles here on the forum, sooner or later someone will be able to take you up on your finder's fee offer, I hope!

Cheers, and good luck to you in your search!

Dugly
