Talking Excise Tax Help?

Woe is me!!!! I just got my yearly local excise tax bill here in Quincy, Taxxachusetts for my Cobra.

Its listed as a 1965 Ford with a valuation of $250 and a resultant tax of $6.25

Guess I'll have to take up a collection to pay that bill

Anyone have a lower valuation? hehehehehehehe

No Warren, You've got me beat.
My story on that kind of thing is when I went to register my car for the first time. I realy wan't to be honest about it and have everything be squeeky clean. Well I went to the local town hall with all my reciets in a pile along with a total. The clerk asks what's the car worth? I show her the reciepts. She looks at the top receit for the frame( I bought the kit in pieces over time) which was about $10,000 and says yea, that'l do.
I considered poining out the error in her logic, but who am I to question the intelegence of a town employee??

Here in NH your registration is based on age, purchase price and weight.
Needless to say I have never paid much to register the car. But it is considerably more than $6.00

Don't let your auto insurance carrier see that document! If dark days come, you will be S-C-R-E-W-E-D.

Illinois allows a 25+ y/o car to be bought or sold with no sales tax. We do not have exise or personal propery taxes. Tags run $78.00 annually. You can acutually register a 25 y/o vehicle as an antique but has mileage restrictions(to and from parades/shows). Hell, I am the parade when I go for a ride, so i guess I should have gone that route.
