Default NE Chapter monthly gathering and drive.....

NE Members,

The group in MA and Southern NH have been getting together at Skips, Chelmsford MA, for monthly gatherings. Skips is just off RT495 which makes it easily accessed by many. I would like to propose a change as well as determine what day of the month will work for the masses.

I propose meeting off Rt3 at Denny's on the second Saturday of each month at 8am starting April 14th or May 12th. Easy to find, large parking lot, cheap eats etc......and easy to drive North as a group or even South.

Please enter your thoughts so we can start the gatherings April/May ish!

Spring is near lets organize!

Thanks,
Jeff

Default SCDA Events

Lurk,
I noticed that you drove NHI with SCDA in 05 (your gallery). Are you planning any events with this group this year? I am interested in doing some track time this year and looking for others who want to drive some of the NE tracks.
Pat

Hiya Pat-

Yeah... SCDA was great. Couldn't go last year but I will be going this year at least in July, possibly May but I have a new motor to sort out (and I won't want to do that on the track...)

Seriously considering August and some of the Fall dates too.

In the Northeast, I've done Lime Rock too, but it's a pretty long drive for me- hard to carve out the time to get there. Quite a few people make it over to Watkins Glen- but until I get a trailer that's not really an option either.

The only other event I'm contemplating is Cobras in the Mountains coming up in July http://www.cobrasinthemountains.com/

Drop a line if you'll be heading to Loudon.

Best-

-John

I knew this thing would get a life of it's own.

When I picked Skip's in Chelmsford last year it was to try to draw the owners from the Boston "North Shore" area. It has been a good mix of Mass and NH owners. There are a good number of us in NH now, and Chelmsford is a long haul for some.

Jeff must be talking about the Denny's in Nashua NH as it seems to be the only one along Rt3.

Here's a thought. On meet on the 2nd Saturday (Or Sunday???) in central NH. Say Manchester or Concord area. Also keep Chelmsford MA but move it to the 4th Saturday.

As to which Saturday It doesn't realy matter to me. Last year we did the 3rd Satuday but the 2nd one works fine too. Some guys work on Saturday but that's the same problem regardless of which one.

I say go for April. The crowd may be small but that's OK.
(If my new front brake kit arrives on time I'll be running buy the 14th)
My 2 cents.

Harvey

I should be ready to go in April too. Would like to have it in Nashua as well and think there is a few in the centeral and northern reaches of NH that might make the drive if a bit closer. I'll be there in either case and agree that we should plan ahead so we can all fit the days on our calendar. Also we might attract more attention is we keep it a topic on the forum.

Okay Jeff.... how about those tires??????

Harvey & Dave and the rest................

It sounds great to me, twice a month will help if one was busy the other will work.

Chelmsford on the fourth Saturday and maybe Concord or even Exeter on the second? If we did the second meeting towards the seacoast we could PU some newbies?

Thoughts? I will not be rolling by April so May will be the first I can get out. Maybe I can ride as Dave's Navigator in April?

Tires are in see gallery!

Default Watkins Glen Event

I did a 2 day PDA / NASA event last July. Had a blast. I did get some static about the roll bar height. This year I lowered the seat so I should be fine. The problem is that I can't have an instructor riding along.
I put a set of Blue Streaks on for this year.
Still looking for others to go!
Pat

Neither was a problem for me- not sure what your roll-bar height his but they didn't even check mine. Had a ride alone with the instructor no problem despite not having a second (or a full-width) roll bar and only lap belts in the shotgun seat.

FIA,
I am a PDA/NASA instructor, I skipped July PDA at WGI last year but I am signed up for all four events this year. I'll check with Joe about instructing in your car.

Jeff,
How abot someplace along Rt 4? Last year I checked out a breakfast place at the Epsom circle (Intersection of 4 & 28) I just looked online for the name and coudn't find it but it's only about 15 miles from your house. As you head north from the circle on Rt28 it is the very first place on the left.
There is also a McDonalds along there. Not great attmosphere but you know they can crank out food if 5 or 50 show up.

That section of Rt 4 would be easy for Concord, Manchester, seacoast and lakes region.

Lokks like we are settleing on NH the 2nd Saturday and Skips in Chelmsford the 4th Saturday.

Harvey and friends,

I like the sounds of Epsom circle? Anyone else want to toss in their $0.02? Other possible spots are Exeter, Concord, or Lee?

I know for a few of us Epsom is a great location just would like to pick a spot to maximize #'s and turnout.

FFR guys any thoughts? Pat, John, Will, and others.........

Jeff

Further North the better for me so I don't have to trailer too far ;-) Watching with interest at the amount of responses and the venue decisions. Warren nice job on the events list for us NEers!

A little late here....Lets keep it rolling.

I agree with the Epson traffic circle area. Maybe close enough we can get the Plymouth/Holderness crew down here.

Mickmate: Any chance of getting Ron and Pat to dust off those Contemporarys and driving them down? I'd like to hook up with both. Been a while. Is the Epson area good for you?

Hi Dave, Pat would love a chance to show off his everyone and everything Shelby album from his trip to the museum. Ron won't need much of an excuse to click on a few miles. That's a nice drive from here and we have a couple of keen local FFR guys too. Sounds like a good gathering or two shaping up here.

Mickmate: Sounds good! It would be great to have you and all of our CCX cars together. And I haven't seen those guys in years. Used to hang with Pat with the R-Model. Get them fired up and we'll try to set a date.
