Default Lime Rock Park 5/25 to 5/28

http://www.limerock.com/

Press release from Lime Rock Park:

Mark Your Calendar!
Lime Rock Park Kicks-Off the 50th Anniversary Season This Memorial Day Weekend.

It’s that time of year. Spring is here, cars are on the track and it’s time to gear up for the upcoming 2007 season. With 50th Anniversary celebrations aplenty throughout the entire season, every race weekend will be bigger and better than before.

Mark your calendar for this Memorial Day Weekend as we kick-off the golden anniversary with the Grand-Am GT Classic 25-28 May. The four-day holiday weekend of speed will bring some of the loudest and closest competition with the GT class battles between Porsches, Pontiacs, Corvettes, Ferraris, and Mustangs. The spirit of the original "Little Le Mans" race at Lime Rock Park in 1957 is carried on as a huge field of Koni Challenge Series cars keeps the tradition of production car racing alive.

The SCCA Speed World Challenge Touring Car Classic will once again be part of the Memorial Day Weekend racing. An all-out sprint from the standing start, right to the finish less than fifty minutes later. No pit stops, no driver changes, no blinking.

Come Sunday, instead of watching cars race, fans can take a walk through the Park and see some spectacular machinery as the famed Hemmings Magazine hosts the Sports & Exotic Car Show.

Buy tickets online at www.limerock.com or simply call the Track Office at 1.800.RACE.LRP. But first, make sure to see if you qualify for one of our ticket promotions below:

Are you celebrating 50 years as well? For every day of the event, the first 50 people who were born in 1957 to show up to the Information Booth on the Midway will receive a Lime Rock Park goodie bag filled to the max with free stuff! Don’t forget to have your valid government issued I.D. with date of birth.

Are you part of the active military? If so, simply show up at the gate come race day with a valid Military I.D. and you and your immediate family get in free as we salute our troops this Memorial Day Weekend.

Feel free to contact the Track Office with any questions regarding the upcoming 50th Anniversary season by calling 1.800.RACE.LRP or email us at info@limerock.com.

See you at the track!

Don,
Thanks for the reminder! We will plan to host an early morning get together and breakfast so we can get a group to go in together.

Who is available to hit this event? Limerock events are great just for the drive there (nice roads) and a great destination.

Can we get a group parking area? The ride up 254 to 63 is terrific, expecially early in the morning when they are empty.

Bob, a contact at Lime Rock is Donna Lloyd, Ticketing Manager, @ 860.435.5000. I would imagine there would would be a need to specify either Saturday 5/26 or Monday 5/28. The reserved lot for Season Ticket Holders and the Insiders Club is " V Lot "

Between running her own travel agency and managing travel operations for Skip Barber Racing School, it ‘s fair to say that tickets have been the main focus of Lime Rock Park Ticketing Manager Donna Lloyd’s professional life. As a life-time local to Lime Rock Park, Donna is looking forward to being a part of the 50th anniversary season at Lime Rock Park.

PS: Discount Tickets available at AAA offices.

Default Lime Rock Park 5/25 to 5/28 - Discount Tickets

Hey Cobra Fans in CT!!

AAA is where I spend my time during the days (can't really call it working ).

The CT Motor CLub sells Lime Rock tickets for the major race weekends, starting with May 25-28. The tickets we sell are the Advance Tickets, less than the Gate Price on race days. These are for sale to anyone, AAA Member or not, at the Advance Sale Price. For AAA Members there is an additional discount as well. For Sunday, for example, the Gate Price is $15; Advance is $10; AAA Member is $9.

Also, as you may already know, when you buy the Advance tickets, parking is included.

I hope to see you all there on Sunday!

Is the Sunday show open for the Cobras? Or do they need proper UK lineage?

Jay, an interpretation of:

"The show is for authentic sports and exotic cars from the 1989 model year and earlier. "

Use of the word " authentic " implies no kit cars, replicas or Composites ???

In the past Cobras (replicas) got to show up only on Labor Day Sunday. Their web site does not say much www.limerock.com . If we could get a group to convoy up (as spectators) I would be willing to join in. I'll be the guy guarding the cars in the lot all day. I'll bet Tony Aprile would know the answer.

I think we will just host a Saturday get together as usual. The Limerock event is for "real" imports But a BDR is an import

Anyway. I will post another announcement for a Saturday get together and drive.

Hey let me know if you want to get together Saturday or not. I think a lot of people have plans due to the holiday but we will be there working our tails off. I'm expecting a few prospects too.

We usually get together around noon. I won't have time for the grill so why don't we just have a loose get together time around 11am? If there's enough turnout we can do a cruise around 1pm or 2.

Should I expect some Cobras we don't own on Saturday?

Hey Jay:
Noreen and I were going to take a run out but if it appears we are the only car maybe we should save it for another time. I think maybe the thread title is misleading.
