Thumbs up Nov 3d Cruise and Open House: Ferraris, Lambos, Porsches and...REPLICAS?

In the never ending quest to bring cruising opportunities (and reasons to escape the house) to the Cobra masses, our esteemed events research department has brought to my attention the following posting from the Ferrari North America website:

Nov 3. Annual open house at Boston Sports Car in Weston, MA, from 11:00 a.m.
till 2:30 p.m. See some great cars: vintage and new, and enjoy great BBQ from
SoulFire in Allston. Info: Darin McKay (781) 647-7300, e-mail: Darin308@aol.com

(Thank You Cobra 302)

There is perhaps nothing more entertaining that viewing classic and contemporary cars (as well as their owners) with the free food offer added. Also one more chance to do a little cruising. Rather than just descending en masse on the poor unspecting people at Boston Sportscar, I stopped by and inquired as to the possiblilty of welcoming a few (I'm thinking at least 10) noisy, hand built custom roadsters, coupes and even supercars.. Since these guys know me, they winked and said sure "The more the merrier". The gauntlet has been thrown down. Nothing pleases all of us more than to see the owners of $100,000 and up supercars eyeing our poor, misunderstood....."home builts". Actually these guys at BSC are good guys and really want us there.
We'll plan a meet place, possibly my house or somewhere else close by , probably about 10 AM or so. We'll have coffee, etc. and head out on a short cruise through some local, usually lightly travelled scenic roads to arrive at the open house. The rest is up to them. They opened up specially for a few of us on a cruise a few weeks ago on a sunday and we crawled all over their workshop including an F 40, as well as a variety of other Ferraris and Porsches. This will probably be the last organized event of the season (with the exception of a few breakfasts and what not...never say die) so let's make an impact. It would be great to have North, South, West and anyne else show up. Come on guys, my town needs waking up. Happy Motoring.
Ron

Magnificent! I just ran the cruise route for the Nov 3 outing and it was absolutely perfect. I'm sure that the fact that the foliage is about at peak around here didn't hurt...or that the temperature was about 68 and sunny, but the route is no slouch either. It is about 20 miles and cruises through rural roads along farms, past streams, ponds forests...it was great. If it turns out that is is cool I have some shorter variations. it took me about 40 minutes with moderate traffic...we'll be going earlier. Oh yeah...the road conditions were also excellent. And for our fly boys (svt 2205 and Mr Whalen) the route does end up twisting and turning down a recently paved Conant Road. Can't wait to do it again...maybe I should go right now! Oh and Jack, we do cruise a bit through your home town. Sure hope to see a bunch of you guys...as well as cooperative weather.
Ron

I'd love to attend, but I'm on vacation and the Cobra is locked in my garage at home. Only bad thing about vacation is not being able to drive the Cobra.
