SAAC33 Group Drive out of Southern NH
NE Group,
I am planning a group drive to NJ from Southern NH for the semi-annual East Coast SAAC33 event August 14th with a return date of August 17th. This drive will take us through NH, MA, CT, NY, and finally into NJ.
If interested drop a reply to this thread or PM me so we can make accomodations to meet others on the ride down. I am also hoping to have a group of Contemporaries there so we can all meet. If there is enough interest maybe we can all gather for photos.
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Donna, the kids, and I are in. We'll be taking at least the mustang and, if I can ever stop working enough, the cobra even if I have to take it unpainted.

Do they let replicas in?
I have gone to the web site for SAAC 33 and 32. Looks like you have to be IN the registry to get in. I would love to drive down ( I was born in New Jersey) the trip is about six hours at high way speeds, so if we leave early and make a day of it, picking up people along the way it would be great. I just don't know how we would be received after we get there?
Hot and sticky in Jersey that time of the year. Millville is out in the middle of the sticks, where would you stay? Would you race your car?
I am full of questions and I know the area. Jeff are you taking the lead on this?

You do not need to be in The Registry....all are welcome.
Pay the admin fee (I think $15 or $25) and get in.
You need to be a SAAC member "IF" you plan on going on track.

Hey John, glad we got your interest. Having a SPF you're more original/acceptable than most but that doesn't matter. Like they say ownership is optional, enthusiasm is a must! I've booked a room at the Days Inn Vineland. It's only 8 miles, 12 mins away. I'd love to race mine but I don't think it will be running then..........maybe it will??

But will the seats be bolted down? I may just join the parade if Mickmate is done with his car. I missed it at the cookout last year.

I agree!
Let's get the discussion started as time is now getting short. I did recieve my information packet for SAAC33 discussing the events, show and track time. You don't have to be an active member of SAAC to be in the show-n-shine or the parade laps. (5 laps for $10 with pacecar). The cars ie replicas are able to park on site in the designated area.
I plan to drive down Thursday August 14th with a return date of Sunday 17th afternoon.
John,
I will bring the SAAC information to the breakfast this Saturday at The Windmill.

Okay guys and gals... almost the big day and the weather is looking promising for a dry drive south!
Any ideas for a meeting place and time?

So calling you as we pass your exit didn't work, that thing is too fast and we still couldn't get away! Want to go for Macy's again or is that too far over for D&M?

10:00 is good for us (well at least me :-))) We've been keeping tabs on the weather and it looks like it should cooperate for a change.

Well we all made it here. Jeff made the ironman trek despite losing his wipers and his new CCX hat in a complete deluge. Looking forward to tomorrow!

We got there at about 8.30 this morning. It was kind of hot and hazy and it just got hotter. There was a little breeze which was a lifesaver as was the canopy Bonni got us. There are some awesome cars there Fran has a nice 289 slab as does Legendary and several others. There is an original GT40 there, a gorgeous no scoop blue street car 334?, another sweet street 427 with FIA wheels, Jays magnificent 3318, and an SC 3011. It's just a Shelby overload and we're missing you. Jeff and Dave have their cars parked either side of my booth and are drawing almost more traffic and interest than we can handle. They took them round the track for open track at this fabulous facility. Our New England contingent are a fantastic team that are looking after and helping each other and me and I want to publicly thank all of them here. I got to drive a 427 today with Bonni and am soooooooooooooo inspired by these things right now I just can't explain it to anyone other than you guys that understand the Cobra smile. Tomorrow should be awesome as it's a great turnout already.

Thanks for an update. There hasn't been as much talk on this site about the event as I thought there would be. I'm heading down tommorrow for the day with a friend. Have a good time.
