Thumbs up Good News for Connecticut Drivers

Recently, our idiot governor Jodi Rell (a republican) decided it would be a good idea to place cameras along Connecticut's interstates in order to catch speeders. Considering most of our interstates (at least in the Fairfield County area) are posted 55 MPH and lower this would have meant multiple tickets per day for most drivers. I'm not sure of the details but as best I could find out the automatic devices would measure your speed, and a ticket would automatically be sent to you.

Luckily the idea was turned down by the legislature (or some committee) in charge of implementing the idea. So my fellow Cobra drivers I am asking you to keep an eye on this woman and write your representatives the next time she comes up with yet another idea so make us even safer than we are now.

How about 25 MPH limits on all Connecticut highways? That should reduce accidents.

Bob

A few years back someone from DOT hired some mainland engineers to do
an analysis of our freeways for speed limits, etc. Their findings, in a nut shell,
was that the speed limits, at 55 were too slow for the roads. They actually
do have portions at 60 but that is it. Long story short - they didn't agree so
ignored the findings. Usually people go about 65 with no problems except
here there are plenty who insist on driving in the left lane at whatever speed
they choose which is usually slow so everyone passes them on the right.
This is on Oahu - the other islands have no freeways so traffic can be a bear.

And of course this would have been a revenue source for ct, never mind the insurance company's.
