John Kerry's 9th Anniversary

The big Jawn being celebrated for his 9th anniversary for being one of the most INEFFECTIVE senators. The attack ad in the Herald today paid for by Jim Ogonowski who is opposing Kerry for his seat in the Senate.

Vote for Jim O.

No that would be because of COMBAT! Soldiers and Sailors who put their lives on the line for this country, no matter what their politics, deserve our gratitude, period.

jmimac351: I have wondered what a hemorroid looks like...thanks to your proctologist!

The dreamer: Right you are. A salute to his service, though he has often drug same thru the mud for political expediency. His service (and Heinz $) gives him a foot in the door, but what has he done with it?? Same with TK;
a bloated, loathsome martinet living as a maggot on the corpse of the family name.

In the Civil War, there are records of men who were awarded the Medal Of Honor who later were convicted of cowardice under fire (some hung for same). Awards and brevets are given for specific events, but must be examined in the context of ones life as a whole. It is here that Kerry is found wanting, not in VietNam.

A Mass. state trooper once told me they kept re-electing Teddy to keep him away from state politics. He was not smiling.

Dreamer, As one of those soldiers who's put his life on the line, I disagree. When Kerry lied to the public about his service and about his career, he forfeited any gratitude he was owed. Too many men of better character than he, have given testimony discrediting his service, his conduct while in uniform and conduct after military service. The only thing that I give the man credit for is marrying above his station and being able to maintain that relationship (which is more than I've been able to do in the last 40 years.)

Who verified this "better character"? The men who fought along side Kerry during the engagements he was decorated for support his story. The only people who claim different were not there. I typically don't enter into these discussions because 1) people say outrageous things behind their anonymity and 2) people tend to believe what they want to believe. Having said that but also having served 20 yrs, I just think it is reprehensible to disparage the service of any American who puts their life on the line for this country because they don't agree with my views. Politics have place, but they don’t trump everything. I signed up to defend everyone’s right to say what he or she wanted (like you and me now) and I take the good with the bad.

Purple hearts are awarded not because of combat, but because a soldier was wounded in combat.

Soldiers and sailors who use the service to further a political career deserve neither gratitude nor admiration. Military service is selfless service, not self service.

One of the men that served with Kerry was one of the men that said he was full of it!:o

Sharroll Celby 04-17-2008 07:01 PM

Evidently, all the rest of Kerry's men did NOT say he was full of it. ;)

yeah ... except for the others who were on the boat, the doctors who put a bandaid on his boo boo(s) and everyone else who saw his "battle damage."

The man is a gutless, detestable human being. Like most liberals, he loathes his country and the foundations it was built on. He sold out his fellow servicemen for his own personal ambition. He is not a patriot and I do question his patriotism.

But other than those minor flaws, I'm sure he's an ok guy.

Not really. He is an a$$hole. I started this thread based upon his uselessness as a Senator. His "work" during the Vietnam war is another subject, and the 2 should not be mixed together.

I was kidding. :) Unfortunately about 15-20% of the country is just like him and about half are dumb enough to vote for people like him.
