Thumbs up Cobra Get-Together August 9 - Ridgefield, CT

Originally posted on ffcobra.com

Yes, the Cobra Bash is on again this year!
The Bash will be hosted by Dave Cowin and Carl Johnson and will take place at Dave’s house in Ridgefield, CT.
All Cobra folks are welcome and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey. If you own a Cobra, are in the process of building one or just want to see some nice cars, please stop by. There will be plenty of parking for Cobras and other vehicles.
****Note: This will be a “Shine” event only and there is no rain date. Feel free to call on the day of the party if in doubt.
Date: Saturday, August 9, 2008
Time: 1 P.M. to 5 P.M.
Here’s the Plan:
Party at Dave’s from 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. then a Cobra Caravan to the Saturday Night Cruise-In at Marcus Dairy in Danbury (5 miles away). Imagine the looks we’ll get when we roll in with 20-30 Cobras!
There will be burgers, hot dogs and refreshments. Bring something if you’d like and it’s O.K. if you don’t.
Dave’s address is 74 Norrans Ridge Dr., Ridgefield, CT 06877
Use Mapquest to get there and when you hit Route 35, look for Farmingville Rd. and then Norrans Ridge Dr. Follow the Cobra-shaped signs.
If you get lost, call Dave (phone # below).
Please RSVP by sending Dave or Carl an e-mail as soon as you can so we can plan for the right number of hot dogs.
The more the merrier so please put this on your calendar and tell your friends. This is always a great time. Let’s do this.

Thumbs up

As of Friday morning the weather is predicted to be sunny and dry tomorrow. Noreen and I plan on being there. This is a top shelf event not to be missed. So who else is planning on attending?

Dave, can we bring anything?

Bob

Do you have a general idea when everyone will be driving to Marcus Dairy? I actually have a number of customers driving in on Saturday for a small get together (some from PA, NY, etc) and would like to meetup with you all (and them) at the Dairy.

Based on last year I would think the group (those going to Marcus Dairy) would be arriving there between 4:00 and 5:00. Any later and I don't think we could park as a group.

Jay, Why don't you all join us at Dr. Dave's?

We've got a full day at the shop (for a Saturday).

I spoke with Mark R. sounds like the gathering in Ridgefield means an arrival at Marcus around 5:30 - 6pm. That is fine, the place does not get nearly as packed as before. Most of the traffic is 7pm - 8pm from what I have seen.

I know Bob is afraid of the dark, but you may have to push it

Ditto on Stush's post. It was a terrific day (not counting the construction on Route 7, sorry Art). Here are a few of the many Snakes in attendance.

I hooked up with the group at Marcus Dairy in my black ERA. There was a group of fifteen Cobras and one Ford GT 40 parked together...what a sight! I met Dave and a few of the guys, as well as Jay from Vintage Motorsports. Just a great time with some really nice Cobra enthusiasts. Marcus Dairy is THE place to meet car guys in CT on Saturday nights. Can't wait 'till Lime Rock. I'll post some pics in a day or so.

Some of the Cobras on display at Marcus Dairy this past Saturday. I counted fifteen, including my own, plus one Ford GT40. Had to be the largest Cobra get together so far in CT. this year.

First I saw this, can't believe I missed it...oh well, the Cobra is apart at the moment anyway, still could have brought the Stang!
