Planning spring run 2009 - ct/ny/pa/nj/ma/ri
The Fall Run in 2008 was a great event. We are planning to organize another group drive to kick off the Spring season. Proposed dates at the moment are 4/18 Saturday or 4/19 Sunday depending on the weather.
Route is TBD. Since we ran NW CT last time I would like to coordinate something perhaps that would get into SW CT or NY part of that region.
So lets hear some driving route suggestions and who can make such an event.
Would also like to have a small collection in Warren's memory with contributions going to the American Heart Association. Don't forget WTM442:

I can make it if it's on the 19th. Maybe consider northeastern CT. into Ma. or R.I.? Lots of traffic in southwestern CT. Some parts of NY state are nice, though...maybe Taconic Pkwy to Rhinebeck?

I should have been clearer... I think I meant Mid-Western CT. Out past Southbury, Roxbury, New Milford, into Pawling perhaps?

Sounds good. For me to go, it would have to be Sunday, however.

I'm here! Sounds like a plan. Any chance of doing a south central route? Your place to Route 68, to Route 79, to a road with no route number on my map, to Route 1 to the Whale's Tail (in Madison) for lunch (lots of parking and exposure). There's a Duncan Donuts across the street for the coffee guys. There's also a bunch of vineyards in that area.
If not, any chance of running a bunch of Snakes through the tunnel on the Wilbur Cross? The 16 year old hiding inside of me would love that, the wife not so much. If the road is smooth, mostly free of lights and stop signs and is posted above 35 it's fine with me.
Hey Mike, Rick, Steve & Kathy, Todd, & Joe are you guys in?

I was hoping to try the shoreline in the Summer. If we hit the tunnel and then head out to 34 to 67 to ??? There's also some very nice sections of 8 out at that way.

Gee I can usually plan "rain days" around whenever you guys schedule a cruise. Wend and I should be available that weekend and would love to finally join everyone for a drive. Jay, from your shop on Rt. 68 winding up through Cheshire and Wtby and into Southbury and Litchfield is a great run. Lots of nice roads. We do it every fall (Elenor-run) and usually hit Hopkins Vineyard for lunch (great place for pictures around the lake).
Bob, it's okay to venture out of Madison now and then. Trust me, the people in up there won't bite.

Mike,
Sounds good. I will start looking at the maps for that region.

Keep it on top and round up these CT guys. I know there's plenty of snakes around here. We had more than twenty back in Oct.

Fatty:
Believe me I know it's ok to venture out of Madison now and then, I live in West Haven. Where were you last fall when 25 of us went up to Salisbury? Ask the Long Island guys how often I've joined them for events on the island. Ask Todd B. about our trips to Point Judith (RI) and East Haddam. Last year I attended cruise nights in Mystic, Danbury and Misquamicut, where were you?
I usually cruise the Madison area because the roads are open and the location is central to a lot of Cobra owners. Everything west of me is bumpy and congested. I'm probably one of the few Cobra owners who has pictures of his (or her) snake going around Lime Rock at speed. I believe the track is far north of Madison.
So, where do you want to go? Am I venting?
Bob

I'm game, hopefully, I can get her back together by then. if not, it will be the Stang. Sunday would be better for me.
I'm game for anywhere
Hey Bob, your a trooper in my book...remember that last COLD ride we went on last year??? You were the only one to show up, and after a brake problem to boot!
Maybe we should just do that ride again, only with more people this time.

Sounds good. We made the fall run. Let's avoid the construction areas this time.

I'm in if I don't have to go to Spain for the weekend. I'll know in a couple of days. The Cobra's back from the painter and the FE doesn't leak a drop. Put a hundred miles on this spring (If you could call it that), quite a few with Todd B. Life is good.
