I think I'll be heading up. I went two years ago and had a great time.

I'm going as well. Ron's right about the social thing, at least for me anyway. I usually end up BSing with old cronies of mine for hours. A very enjoyable day.

Default Vintage Festival Sunday

As we usually have a few cobra's from long island making the trip on sunday morning and most you are familar all roads to limerock. I'd like to ask the road condtion of route 7, as we would be picking it up about 10 miles south of Kent via route 55 from NY.

Already got my passes. Had a great time last year hanging out in the esses with the other Cobras. Weather permitting, going up on Sunday and hope to see all of you there!

Default Limerock Parking ?

If you come on Saturday, do you have to park in the general admission parking?

No, you will be invited to Specialty Parking. It is like a nice little car show with a bigger race going on around it. I was there for an event earlier this year and I parked between a newish Ferrari and an Audi R8.

I'll be there Monday for the races, with the Family in the minivan like the previous 5 years.
The sound of screaming V8's going down the hill is something else, makes my back hair stand up. The wifey does not complain as much anymore, she just reads a book or somthing, while me and my son watch the racecars.

Believe it or not, you can still socialize with old cronies during and between races on race days. You also get the added benefit of smelling 110 octane and feeling the ground shake.

Gary Nelson and I will be planting ourselves at the outside of turn 1 by the circled trees. We'll wander up to see you Jay.

Hey Todd:
An up to date map! Are you going up on Sunday?

It's Saturday night and I just got back from LRP. Big big line going into Litchfield on the way home. Too bad the State Police won't help with the lights down there. They just put on their lights and head back to the barracks. The rest of us get to sit in line for a very long time.

I would avoid Route 63 going into Litchfield on the way home. I imagine going through Torrington will be as bad.

Bob

I ended up going today and helping a friend pull the gearbox out of his formula car. Grease up to the elbows and it was a blast.

Hey Rich:

Here the way to get past the traffic - As you approach Litchfield take North Lake street (on the right) down to West Street (202). 202 goes right through the center of Litchfield towards 254 and/or Route 8. Or just follow me.

The show allows kits, replacas and the 60s originals. Show your AAA card at the gate and save $5.00 per person.

Rich:
Take exit 38 to 254 to 63. It's far more scenic and the road is like glass.

Is that the road through Litchfield center?

I see that's how we went on last years Fall Cruise.

I'm gonna pass on the Sunday thing and go to the swine judging and sheep sheering exhibition at the Goshen Fair. Can you sheer a pig? This is mostly likely the cause of the traffic jam in Litchfield. Seriously though, I'd rather be driving but I'll be there Monday with Gary Nelson @ 9ish. Did you watch GT Racer on HD Discovery? Great vintage racing footage.

I saw the show, it was great except there was no narration. Were those Cobras Autocrafts? I noticed they had small blocks.

Those were 289FIA cars. Yes, they could have done a MUCH better job with narration and documenting all the other great cars there.
