Hey Jay, Are We Doing a Fall Cruise?
Hey Jay:
It's September. Based on the great success (20+ cars) of last fall's ride to Goshen and beyond, I was wondering if there is interest in doing another one this year.
It certainly can't be any colder than it was the last time.
Any thoughts? The pizza place in Goshen was a nice destination, should we do it again? This time let's leave out the car show.

Stay tuned... need to get through heavy event weekends first. Lime Rock this weekend, Watkins Glen perhaps next weekend. Then we have some other big shows to do.
September 13th - Fairfield County Concours
September 20th - Southbury Training School
September 25-27 - Pocono Good Guys
October 4th - Orange, CT Pyramid Shriners

FYI we want to break 200 miles on this trek and I want to include RTE-169.
Or head to Great Barrington, MA then loop to Red Hook, NY and back down through Brewster, NY to Newtown, CT.

Remember, we're not all in our 20s (or 30s or 40s or 50s). Some of us were driving before the first 260CI Cobra was ever built. 200 miles translates to over 4 hours in the car.
I don't know about the rest of the crowd, but 200 miles is too much for me.

As with all our drives, you are welcome to join in or drop off wherever you like. That's why we publish the maps and have multiple stops. Instead of 2 hours at a pizza joint this time we hope to put that time to better use on the road.
And I think our average speed is a little higher than 50

Jay, are you bringing any vehicles to the Glen? I will be doing the Knapp Vineyards Rally (weather permitting) on Friday and would stop to see anything you may bring if you can let me know where you may be.

Don,
I was hoping to get out to the Glen this year, but it is conflicting with some other local events and it's tough to pull off back to back weekends with Lime Rock tomorrow.
We will get out there eventually but it does not look good for this time around.

I'm interested if it's on a Sunday. Great Barrington is a great ride, maybe on up to Stockbridge, Ma. Hope to see you all at LR this Sunday (Bob, are you going?).

Hey Rich:
If the weather is dry Noreen and I will be there. Any chance of rain and we'll be staying close to home. Will Claire be joining you?

Dates are looking like 10/10 or 10/11
This is one week earlier than last year so we can hope for a bit warmer temps and also some more actual leaves on the trees up north. Right now it looks like a trip up Rte. 8 again with a further loop to the north promises to be the best approach. We had the right collection of people, cars, and weather last year. Not to mention the roads. So I am probably not going to mess with that formula too much.
I would like to organize a bigger lunch, later in the ride that perhaps can act as an "end" for those who want to break off.
We are also going to look into a host hotel near our shop so our friends and customers in NY, NJ, and PA can join in.

There are at least three vineyards in the Litchfield area. Just a thought.

2 options:
Plan for Sunday 10/11 with a rain date the following weekend.
or
Plan for Saturday 10/10 with a rain date on Sunday 10/11.

Picnic / Cookout would be good. I know Mike is dying to show off his BBQ.

If the weather is dry on Sunday, Noreen and I will be hitting one of the Litchfield vineyards. We'll probably grab brunch at the Aspen Garden restaurant (outdoor seating) right in town. It's not so much the food or drink but the drive up Route 254 - back and forth, up and down, no lights or stop signs and smooth as glass!
Any interest?
