Thanks for posting those. I believe they said R.S. would resume their auction today or maybe it was yesterday.

Dont get mad BUT the CSX2XXX and the CSX 3XXX cars should sell
for big bucks they are the original Cobras with history......
all others only have the CSX thing going for them and dont
have the history the originals have....there just another
replica of the originals and all your getting when you buy
one of those is the name.

Did anybody catch what CSX4813 sold for at the Russo and Steele auction?

I keep checking their website and have emailed them a couple times (nothing yet), and Googled the world, but haven't found anything.

UPDATE: Received an email from Russo today. CSX4813 did not sell at auction, but I still don't know what the high bid was. This was not the car's only unsuccessful trip to the auction block. The car did not sell at Mecum Indianapolis 2009 at bid of $85,000 nor did it sell at Mecum Indianapolis 2008 at bid of $80,000.

Default What is the difference between "continuation" and "completion" Cobras?

I notice that the fellow that posted the sales prices uses the phrase "continuation" Cobra in connection with a 6000 series car.
But now with the passage of time and my advancing age I can't remember whether, when Shelby "found" the uncompleted chassis for some CSX3000 series cars around 1993 , they were sold as "continuation" or "completion" cars.

So my question is: does anybody use the phrase "completion" car anymore and, if so, which serial number range would it apply to.

"Continuation" is attributed to the current production of CSX 1000, 4000, 6000, 7000 and 8000 series cars.

"Completion" refers to the handful of cars built (and the many unbuilt intentions) for the remainder of the CSX30xx numbering sequence reserved for Comp style big block cars in the 60's

Wally,

You should really think about getting a copy of the SAAC Registry for Cobras.

You might find that Shelby was not the only one to use CSX numbers in the completion range (and I'm not talking locomotives either).
