Got you covered John. You're "in the book"
Got my speedometer back from Auto Meter. Man what service! My speedometer had quit working one day a couple of years ago and I've had three different shops look at it, attempt to fix it, charge me for it and it still didn't work. The last one here in Germany who sent it to a specialty shop that does nothing but gages and they came back telling me that it was hosed.
I had sent a note to the AutoMeter web site, and I got an answer from Cory Villany at Tech Services. To make it short, after many messages with questions followed by very detailed instructions, Cory welcomed me to send the unit back to them to test it - this was way over the warranty timeline, mind you - and after everyone had told me that the unit was defective, AutoMeter checked it, deemed it operational and sent it back to me with another detailed diagram for checking my wiring, installing it and calibrating it properly. And all this at no charge even though I offered to pay for anything and everything.
Talk about customer support. Above and Beyond what I'd expected.
My hat's off to them. Cory Villany and AutoMeter.
