How do you get tickets for this great car and do you have to be there to win ?

Ron

You guys have to be grateful for the Cobra scene you enjoy. Not only do you have owners whom I am proud to know, but you have manufacturers who fall into the same category.

What a good day it was for me when I accidentally found this place.

Jerry Chabino 12-23-2002 05:37 AM

I am absolutely blown away !!!! Honest to goodness it brought tears to my eyes in what the Kirkhams have done for Jenny and DVSF III. I would have liked to seen DV's face when he heard about it.

Turk 12-23-2002 08:00 AM

I admire the Kirkhams selfless act of contributing a complete car for no other reason than to help someone else. It's truly refreshing to see this in a day were usually the BUCK is the bottom line.
Your family is to be commended.:D

Turk 12-23-2002 09:00 AM

ST,
Fist you donated your time. Then you donated 3 gallons of cheap gas. Now your car?
Man, you are an angel, with no boundaries. The gift that keeps on giving.

What is next. What are you going to do with Jackie? How about the ERA. Put me down for either!

TURK

JWheaton 12-23-2002 09:15 AM

Turk:

What a scary thought indeed. I would keep the skirt long enough to cover my stick and berries, as it were. More kilt length than anything cheerleader like:3DSMILE:

KIRKHAMS you guys are truly amazing, may GOD BLESS your family for the great THINGS you have done to the cobra community. And give you strenght to make the triple the $ you made last year.
Forget the belly dance, I'll give you a lap dance to own one of the aluminum beutys

excelguru 12-23-2002 12:22 PM

Wow! What an unbelieable gesture of goodwill.

Man, I am SO going to buy a raffle ticket this year (assuming it's raffled).

Keith :)

xlr8or 12-23-2002 05:29 PM

Hat's off to the Kirkhams. Look how much joy this has already spread and it hasn't been turned into a contribution for CF yet.

Gentlemen your generosity again puts you at the head of the class.

Where's the line to buy raffle tickets?

I was already looking into spreading DVSF3 flyers in the spring at the car shows and events to help sell raffle tickets and such, but this just made it a whole lot easier generate sales.

Dear Club Cobra Members,

This year to help with Spring Fling III, David and I, have decided to donate one of our cars to help raise money for Jenny (Cystic Fibrosis). We really appreciate Turk jumping on the bandwagon with all his enthusiasm by posting a picture of ST’s big bad 427 but since CF attacks and kills the small ones in our lives, we think it would be more appropriate if we donated a small block car. So many Club Cobra members don't know that we make a 289 car, that David and I figured that this is good time to show our 289 “cut back door” car.

Like the NYC 9-11 car, we want to make the SF III donation a Club Cobra event that everyone will be proud to be a part of. To get everyone involved we are asking that the Club Cobra members donate parts to this car. Since we are not a charity, donations by individuals to us are not tax deductible. :(

Because of Federal Law, we cannot provide an engine or transmission. Fortunately, a small block Ford is a relatively inexpensive engine for the lucky new owner to buy.

We will keep you posted of the progress of the car.

Thank you for you help and enthusiasm

Tom Kirkham

Tom
Great minds think alike--I just asked whether you're accepting donations on the "goal" thread about a nano-second before you posted.

I've started a thread for the donations, and I've asked Brent for a sticky.

I got the tires again.

computerworks 12-23-2002 09:44 PM

(I took care of the sticky on the contributions thread)

Turk 12-23-2002 09:55 PM

Not me!!

Hey,
We are behind you but it wasn't I who posted Sheldon's car as the poster car. I only did the editorial, and Mr. Brent Mills decided Sheldon should donate his car or at least a photo of it.

Either way, 427 or a 289, small block or NO block it is a very sizable display of generosity and I am sure we will be making modifications and alterations along the way.

I was going to donate my car but it looks like you guys beat me to it. Darn it!

Thanks.

TURK

...every once in a while I find something to aspire to - what a rare opportunity

Kirkham = Cobra Royalty...

simonjrwinter 12-23-2002 10:48 PM

Amazing generosity

Don't know what else to say!
These guys are heroes.

John McMahon 12-24-2002 07:22 AM

What a great Family!

Gotta love those Mormons!!!!! :) :)

I had the distinct honor or working the NYC Auto Show with a number of CC members auctioning off the NYC911 Kirkham car.

I spent probably 4 or 5 days with the Kirkhams brothers.
They are real people. Yes, they are in busines to make money....but that have good hearts and it shows by their continued support of not just the hobby, but the people that are in need.

I have been moved by their generosity as well the the expertly built cars they are producing.

- For me, the Cobra legacy goes beyond a CSX number and the need of having an authentic Cobra.
- For me, I need to trust someone in the replica market (since it can be cut throat).
- For me, my next Cobra will be a Kirkham.

Thank you Kirkham family for 'raising the bar' in the replica industry. You now set the standard by which all others must meet.

God Bless you all.

Regards,

JM
