I want to thank you for the posts about the award Gessford Machine received in Las Vegas on Friday, The AERA (Engine Rebuilders Association) and Engine Builder Magazine provided us with an honor and reception we will always remember. Machine shops around the world belong to the AERA which helps members with current and past technical and engine specifications. I believe 31 countries were represented...I certainly was able to talk with people from all over the world. The New Product Show was amazing too....State of the art equipment and many of the leading parts manufacturers were there too. It was fun to talk with them all (especially under the circumstances) and have pictures taken etc.
This type of award is all about the people who work for us.....no amount of money can buy what this says to my employees...they have the pride now of knowing what we do is not only important and that we do a good job...they know the AERA membership knows who they are and what they do now!!! It's was like winning the lottery for me.
We donated the cash award from Engine Builder Magazine back to the EREF Foundation...this Engine Rebuilders Education Foundation provides 1000.00$ scholarships to qualified young people in our industry. These scholarships allow them to continue their education and learning experience for the improvement of our Industry as a whole.
The AERA is all about engines...any engine for any application and has been providing help since 1922.
We're very proud to have been selected and plan on increasing our involvement with this organization and help with all the things it does for our industry. Most good machine shops are supporting members.
This was very cool and I'm especially happy I have a great place like Club Cobra to post about the experience!
To our friends who have our engines...you're the BEST!

I'm not surprised. George saved me nearly 5 yars ago... without any hesitation, and no obligations. He is a super guy, and a real friend.
