From what I heard, you can have a 427 installed, but it will be of the Windsor stroked variety. Not using a reworked ZF either. Will have a new purpose built 5 speed transaxle.

I wonder if CAV, South Africa, is involved with this project?

I was kinda under the impression that the gt40 market would suffer when ford released it's new version. It seems to have flourished. Am I wrong?

Very nice car!

My rumor mill said FE and ZF, but I guess that we'll have the official information shortly.

marcoscsx3121,
From a contact I have at SPF, thses will pass $100k in a hurry.
But it's just like the original, not a modern look a like, there in lies the key in desire.
SPF COBRAs constantly sell at the $45-55 range and have held for a while, with SPF a very established marque, their new GT40 MKII will have no problem in that arena, A TRUE SUPER CAR!

How many people over 6 feet would fit in the car shown here??

I bought one of the Ford GTs because you just cannot fit my body into a GT-40.

Delivery is in October

Pricing will be THE key factor in this product.

I'm sure quality will not be an issue.

Obviously, the price can't be too far out of line with other GT40 replicas (especially the CAV), but I also believe that the ability to run the FE engine will be a factor. The major difference between the MkI and MkII GT 40s was the drivetrain. No FE and it's a MkI with the later body.

BTW, the FE can apparently be fitted to the CAV, since there was one example so equipped at SAAC 29.

Default GT40

Is anybody going to the Carslie Kit Car Show this weekend? If so can you take pictures of the GT40 and post here?

Juan, I plan to head down from State College tomorrow morning as the weather is supposed to be quite nice for this part of the country. I will borrow a camera from a friend and take some pics. I too am particularly interested in checking out this SPF masterpiece.

Default One is registered and on the list...

When Superformance sent in their registrations for the Western States Cobra Bash and in a followup email, they listed bringing a Cobra, Coupe, and the GT40. I'm wondering if and when it shows up to WSCB if it will be in roller or completed form, and which color it will be? No details yet on my end.

Hi Guys,

I have one of these on order, my manufacturing slot is #41 and expect the roller here in California early fall -- Sept/Oct. I have decided to get the SPF Mark I painted in Gulf livery and will put a well built 351 with Webers behind the seats with the ZF bolted up to it. The SPF version will use the ZF transaxle and I they claim that 90% of the parts in their replica will fit onto an original.

Selling my FFR Daytona....great car but, making garage space for the GT-40.

FFR Daytona Coupe For Sale

I have a bottom line of $62,000 for the Daytona.

I have a large file of new pics from Dynamic and have loaded some into my gallery.

Hi guys,

Any of you that have seen the SPF GT please let me know what you think the difficulties will be with installing the Engine/tranaxle combination.

Update: Received a response from SPF yesterday regarding their new GT40 they are reportedly bringing to WSCB '06. Turns out its going to be Red with White stripes, possible engine installed (not sure yet), but probably a roller and not running by the time they bring it to Sparks in May. Can't wait to see it there.

Just got my limited edition 1:18 scale exoto GT40 model last week, and if the SPF GT40 looks anything like the model does, its really going to be sweat!
