WIN THE MUSCLE CAR OF YOUR DREAMS

Joliet, IL Be quick off the line to purchase your chance to win a 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500! This torch red Cobra with black convertible top is coiled to strike with a V-8, 5.4 liter engine, 6-speed Tremec manual transmission, Shaker 500 audio system with six-CD changer, and much more.

The Joliet Area Historical Museum will sell just 3,500 raffle tickets. Tickets are $35 each or three for $100.00. The first place winner may choose the 2008 Mustang Shelby or a $25,000.00 prize; in the event that fewer than 2000 tickets are sold, the first place winner will receive 50% of the proceeds. There will also be five second-place prizes of $1000.00 cash. Tickets are being sold at various area events and festivals this summer and are available during regular Museum hours at the JAHM Gift Shop.

The proceeds will benefit the Museum, including exhibits such as as The Soaring Achievements of John C. Houbolt, scheduled to open this fall. This new exhibit will focus on the 1969 moon landing and honor Joliet native Dr. John Houbolt, a key figure in the design and production of NASA's lunar landing module. The 500 square foot, 2-story exhibit will feature panels, diagrams, maps, audio visuals, flat-screen narratives and period dioramas to tell the exciting story of the Apollo mission, the moon landing, and Dr. Houbolt's vision.

The winning raffle tickets will be drawn at the Museum’s 7th Annual Gala Ball, Fly Me to the Moon: A Star-Filled Night at the Museum” on Saturday, October 4, 2008. The lucky winners need not be present to win.

The Joliet Area Historical Museum would like to thank Rūb Ford Inc. of Gardner, Illinois who helped make this car raffle possible. The car is currently on display inside the Museum, 204 N. Ottawa St., Joliet, through October 4.
