Vintage Motorsports completes first customer delivery of Backdraft Racing BDR GT

Wallingford, Conn. (September 29, 2008) – Following a highly acclaimed debut of the BDR GT at the 26th Annual Rolex Vintage Festival at Lime Rock Park, Vintage Motorsports has completed the first customer delivery in the United States. The Backdraft Racing BDR GT recreates one of the most notorious race cars of all time that took on the world and dominated Le Mans during the 1960s.

Built under contract by Auto Futura of Capetown, South Africa to Backdraft Racing specifications, the BDR GT promises to be the most complete GT replica to date featuring the highest degree of fit and finish. Over 600 hours in a world class manufacturing facility ensure this goal is met. To date Auto Futura has built and shipped over 150 GT replicars to customers around the world.

In the final week of September, Vintage Motorsports customer Rick Harris drove off in his BDR GT and became the first owner in the United States. Leveraging its relationship with Vintage Motor Sales and a joint commitment to customer satisfaction; Vintage Motorsports worked closely with Mr. Harris in designing his BDR GT and selecting components to complete his dream car.

“This is simply a car that was always on my list of must haves. After reviewing the options on the market and looking at several other manufacturers, I am very pleased to have made the selection of the BDR GT to fulfill my GT replica dream,” said Rick Harris, BDR GT owner. “Having purchased Backdraft Roadsters in the past, I knew Vintage Motorsports was the right outfit to make this dream a reality; before, during, and after the sale.”

The BDR GT joins the Backdraft Roadster in the lineup of component vehicles for the street and track offered by Backdraft Racing. Full specifications as well as pricing of the BDR GT are available from the Vintage Motorsports Web site at: www.vintagemotorsports.com.

“We are very excited to introduce the BDR GT. There are few cars in history that match the legend of the original GT,” stated Jay Linke, President of Vintage Motor Sales. “Combined with the roadster we now offer two icons from the most thrilling era in motorsport. While the roadster market is far from saturated, the GT allows us to extend our relationship with our current customer base and enter new markets. The BDR GT takes the driving experience to a whole new level.”

The BDR GT is available now from Vintage Motorsports in rolling chassis form, with transaxle, or with full powertrain installed.

Based in Wallingford, Conn., Vintage Motorsports, working closely with Vintage Motor Sales, is proud to be the leading independent final installer for Backdraft Racing Component Vehicles. In addition to completing industry leading replicars for customers worldwide, Vintage Motorsports is an authorized distributor for Roush Performance Parts and Engines.
