Why run this for flat tappets,

http://www.amazon.com/Mobil-94002-Sy.../dp/B000COPC9S

when you can run this at 50% of the price?

My engine doesn't like synthetic so that's out. Brad Penn is good stuff but not readily and easily available.

Solution for my flat tappet old school side oiler? Shell Rotella 15-40 and a can (or two because I use 12 quarts of oil per change) of STP. Rotella has the ZDDP as does STP, together it apparently is "enough". Coming up on 10,000 HARD miles with my flat tappet and looking good!

FYI - If you are an Amazon Prime member and get the free shipping, the price is the same on Amazon. And you get it the day after you order it.

the price of the oil isn't bad but 21.00 shipping hurts.
My company, Origin corporation, is in the process of a Brad Penn distributorship. Our location is in PA so the availability will be good. once things are sorted out i will make it known what pricing will be so others here at CC will be able to buy hassle free. we will be starting out with engine oils but would like to become a full line supplier eventually.

thanks, fred

For those of you wanting a 5w-30 or 10w-30 with higher ZDDP I would recommend Redline (1,200 PPM ZDDP).

I've been running Brad Penn for 2 years. Good stuff. Got my local parts store to order it through their distributor. I buy it by the case so the price is fair for what it is.

Run whatever your favorite oil is and then add this:

Best of both worlds.

Or use Shell Rotella or Chevron Delo at about $2 a quart and available everywhere.

Shell cut back on the P and Zn in Rotella 2 years ago. That's when I switched to Brad Penn.

Thats when I started using a bottle of STP!

Still, I think the ZDDP content is high enough even in the new Rotella oil.
