Recommendations for "Paint Work"
Hey guys --
I spent some time in the hospital last week dealing with an "irregular heartbeat" -- not life threatening -- and the docs are now taking steps to put my "firing order" back in line.
When I got home from the hospital, I went out to the garage and was shocked to find out that the plastic covering from the neon light tube fixture in the garage -- above the cobra -- had fallen directly on the hood of the car and chipped the paint in 4 places. It really bummed me out -- being that the car is new and was "without blemish"!
Can any one recommend a good painter in the Sacramento area to address this issue -- which may require more extensive paint work than just dealing with areas that were damaged?
Thanks for your help here -- and I'll get on the McAnally Racing breakfast event as soon as the doctors calm my heart down!

Jeff, good luck with doc and the meds. I just went through the same issue. Funny thing, the doc asked me every question you could think of concerning my life style....except what kind of car I drive (occasionally). One would think that could make a difference considering the adrenaline these things are capable of releasing!
Can't help on the paint in your area so this is basically a worthless post But if the damage was confined to the hood, that's a blessing, even in the worst case.

Jeff,
Sorry to hear about both experiences. Glad they are getting you running right. If you need paint or paint codes drop me an email, happy to help.

Ken Pike's in Yuba City, just North of you (Across the river from Marysville). He specializes in Cobras and street rods. Web site is Home. Check out my gallery if you'd like to see what he can do with gloss black, as Ken did my ERA 289 FIA.
Actually, look at the gallery on Ken's web-site. Jaw-dropping.
Awesome work. My highest recommendation.

Jeff,
Good to hear the heart issue can be fixed. As can the Cobra. As Doug said, Ken is the man. He has painted several cars for us: 2 Daytona Coupes, 1 roadster, 2 Mustangs. He can take a bit of time but does a first rate job.

Thanks to all for the recommendations --
Yuba City will be closer than Benicia and I think I'll follow up with Ken Pike!

Ken painted my car and did a good job, but he has gotten expensive and he has others doing the work, unlike the days when he made his reputation. I would look around and see if you can't find a couple of alternatives for comparison sake if nothing else.

Hey Jeff,
As others have said, Ken will take care of you. I use to paint all of my cars myself and don't bother any more. Not since I started doing various car projects with Ken. It was a real treat to have my Cobra repainted at Ken's this last time. Very pleased. Countless Cobras and other show cars around here fixed and painted at Ken's Custom Auto Body. Both years we had the Lister and my Cobra on display at Autorama, there were several other cars there all painted by Ken. He can do anything from exact factory match to ultimate show finish, whatever you need. Just tell him what you want and they will get it done for ya.
