Another great turnout everyone. If you can, please keep posting photos here so we can add them to a slideshow that can be forwarded. I will email them back to the folks at Sutter to send onward to the families of the kids staying there. Ron, Phil, (Justin in spirit), and all who participated can pat yourselves on the back for doing something very nice for those kids. Justin said it the best , "proud to call you my friends". Happy Holidays.

Maurice,
Becca and I made it home without any rain at all, we even got a bit of sun as we got closer to our place. It was great seeing everyone this morning in the brisk (freezing) weather. Next month should be the real test of everyone's ability to drive a roadster in the winter. Brrrrrrrr.

Cool, pun intended, what do you have planned for next month, Bob?

Guys and Gals,

I want to thank everyone who came out. The turnout was great, and your generosity was impressive. I'm sure that are a number of excited kids up there on the pediatric floors at Sutter Memorial, and you all made it happen.

Perhaps next year we can make the toy run even bigger and better, without it becoming a burdon on anyone. It's been mentioned that we could make this a lunch run (when it might not be so cold), and I think thats a perfectly reasonable suggestion. Furthermore, I would like any input you have on how to make this an even better event. I'd be willing to tweek things if it is what the group wants. No rush here, just something to think about.

And, keep those photos coming. I'll upload a couple when I figure it out.

Ron,

Something that was suggested by the hospital the year we were rained out is to do it in the spring, for a couple of reasons. When the weather is nicer more kids can come outside, plus the likelihood of rain "may" be less and we could possibly get a larger turn out.

I know it isn't the same as Christmas and I don't know if I like the idea or not - just something that was brought up in the past. Personally, I think it was a huge success this year and wouldn't change anything except the weather!

This was great idea. Lisa and I enjoyed it immensely, even will the chill in the air. Helped make it seem like Christmas.

Great job Ron and great turnout - the suggestion of a summer 'toy' run is a good idea too. Why not do that as well? Maybe another worthy reciepient like the Chilldrens receiving home? Cold or not, we did enjoy - the breadfast, the 'rolling cobra car show' and a good cause thrown in - made it a great day!

I'm game for organizing a summer toy run. I'm not familiar with the Children's Receiving Home, but I'm open to all suggestions....where's ...when's etc.

There certainly are needy children and families all year round.

UPDATE: A big Thank You note from the Children's Center.

We received a very nice thank you card from the staff at the Children's center. Everyone there said the children were very thankful for your visit and the nice gifts everyone brought for Christmas. It was a great success thanks to all of you and Ron (Igofastr) for taking a turn and leading the effort and making it happen this year for those kids. Great job everyone, you did good.
