Default 2nd Annual New Years Day Drive

Hello everyone.... my brakes are fixed and I can now stop my Cobra (most of the time). This is an opportunity to drive to Ione - to Castle Oaks and meet up with those hardy souls who like driving in cold weather. Bob (Clayboy) will meet us there and continue the drive to Jackson for a late breakfast or lunch.
If it is raining all bets off... but you knew that.

I will be at the Pavillions (formerly Starbucks--now Bella Bru) on Fair Oaks Blvd. at 10:15AM Jan. 1, 2013, and leave for Ione-Castle Oaks at 10:30.
Hope to see ya'll there.
Ron

Rick,
Unless you are planning to bring some special "New Year's beverages" I think it will be cold enough without the "igloo on wheels."

Happy New Year's to all... looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow at Castle Oaks. Unless you are all pu***s and can't take the cold. Come on, Man up and get driving ladies!

I'll meet you ya'll at the Pavillions. Still trying to figure out why the sun is so terribly bright this morning, and why did it come up so early?

Ron and Murray,
I hope everyone arrived home safely and began to figure out what the problems were.
Maurice,
We hope Pat is feeling better.
I just wanted to let you all know that you were missed, it's not that we didn't have a good time... because we did. It would have been more fun with all of you there. Here are some photos of the day.
Bob

Well, Ron got to the Ione tow truck company before I did, so i had to wait for the Plymouth tow company to get me home.
Now i need a recommendation for engine work (starter solenoid i think) and transmission mechanic for the overdrive on my B&M automatic - it went out. Fun start to the day ... - hope i'm back together for the next run.

Ron and Murray,
An inauspicious beginning to the new year... on the other hand it can only get better now. How long did it take you guys to finally get home?

Murray,
The only place I have used in Sacramento is Gary Cook's GT Auto. A good guy to know in times of trouble.

Good luck... Bob

Looks like I missed out this time. Did Rons` brakes go out?

Murray, you could check with Tom at FE Specialities,

Reports made it sound like valve train or rocket arm issue.

A valve broke? Did the stem break? Have you pulled the head? Hope you dodged a bullet!

Rick, oooops, I mean a valve spring snapped in half.... the valve was fine... All my springs have now been upgraded so hopefully no more broken springs. Car now runs incredibly well... it's a long story.... maybe we can discuss this in more detail at the 1st Annual Spring Day Ride Event in March and I can give ya'll the whole story..... As of now, I can't wait to go for a nice ride in my renewed Cobra
