3rd Saturday November 15th
Watching the weather for this coming Saturday. Also, we need to start thinking about Christmas toys for the kids.

Hopefully we see a few of you at Cars and Coffee Folsom. The Shriners toy drive is coming up on Dec 7th for those interested. I am also putting together a drive this Sunday to the Cobra Experience museum--will start a new thread.

The Saturday weather looks slightly overcast and a bit on the cool side. Let's do C&C - if you can - and then meet at Mel's on Folsom Blvd. for a 9am breakfast. The drive will depend on consensus. Can we get a head count?

Guys,
Not to worry. I'll be putting together an announcement for our annual toy run in the next week or so.

195 Placerville rd. Basically highway 50 and Scott rd/East Bidwell. There is a Starbucks and In&Out there, also Hampton Inn.

Phil,
Have you figured out what has caused the loss of compression yet ?

Ted,
Thanks for asking. It doesn't smoke, there isn't any clanking, clatter, or banging, the valves are operating properly, there isn't any water in the oil...... with all that said, my best guess is a head-gasket, although there is normal compression in #5 and #7.
To be honest, I've stepped away from it for a while.

Murray - I'll be there for both. Sorry for the late notice.
Phil - bummer on your car. Could possibly be a bent valve. Also could be something stuck between the seat and valve (unusual but not unheard of) or head gasket blown to a cooling jacket passage. Is all the coolant still present?

Forgot to add - a leakdown compression rest is a really good way to diagnose this sort of problem.

Murray,
Thanks for setting up today's breakfast. It was a great turnout and good to see some old friends after so long.

cobrakidz,
I'm sorry we didn't get to talk this morning... the trip to the Cobra Experience Museum in Martinez sounds like a great event. I'm sorry that "the rib" has tomorrow already planned. The NorCal group needs to make it a must attend destination. Post some photos when you get back.

Bob-I blame it on the cheap pot metal or monkey metal used to cast the splined shafts. I have chromoloy axles on the way now rated to 900 hp.
