Default Cobra Experience

Hi Norcal, Sacramento Cobras.

Is anyone interested in meeting up and riding down to Martinez for the special showing of Cobras at the museum Saturday the 6th of June.

This the place where the first continuation competition Cobra with 3??? chassis number was built recently.

Let me know if you want to go along.

Maurice

Sounds good

I think the ride is about 1and1/2 hours , so we could meet at Pavillions on Fair Oaks blvd at about 8:15 and be there at opening time of 10:00 am.

We could take the river road or 80 down or back.

That makes 4 cars for the trip so far.

Hi Tony,
I`m looking forward to seeing you again. The last time was at Sonoma Square when you had the Shelby, I believe. Those events had great turnouts.

At 8:45am Maurice, Ted, Patrick and Murray took off from The Pavilions lot and drove the River Road (hiway 160) into The Cobra Experience at Martinez. Maurice figured an hour and a half drive would put us there for the 10am opening. We arrived there at 10:30 as the volunteer support staff were setting up for a 1pm opening and 2pm car show. Oops! We were greeted by Drew Serb, one of the founding members who, after hearing our sad story, took us into the back door of the closed museum and turned on the lights for our very special tour. WOW! This place is a must visit for any Cobra lover. they are open to the public the third Sunday of each month from 11 to 4 (June 21 this month). Maurice pleaded mea culpa and we assured him that his mistake would be kept quiet. Maurice and I headed straight home on 680 to 80 and Ted and Patrick did the River Road. Great day with great friends on a warm spring day.

Second what Murray said, nice day, good friends, great museum, Overall a very good day.

Ted, forget almost missed exit, no injures, no tickets no problem, never happened.

Maurice, appreciate you putting this together. As Murray indicated we will tell no one about inability to tell time. Worked out quite well.

Well, being late to the party here, I'll just say "ditto" to what Murray and Patrick said. Being there early did afford us the opportunity to talk at length with a couple of the original CSX owners which I really enjoyed. All in all, a great day with friends. Thanks for setting this up Maurice.

I think I got a chance to speak with a few of you yesterday. I had the blue/white stripe backdraft cobra. I've posted several pics of the event over on the "Bay Area Cobra" thread:

Pics from todays Cobra gathering at the Shelby Cobra Museum

Look forward to the next event

Thanks for the Pics, Art.
Our group arrived there a few hours early thanks to a minor time miscalculation by some old guy,ha.

We did get a tour of the museum from Drew, Great, but missed the outside car show

Well worth the ride with good friends.
