Default June Nor Cal Meeting in Folsom

I was just wondering if the June meeting is going to be in Folsom this time.

Uwe,
I don't know if Don D is putting anything together this month. He had knee surgery the first day of WSCB and still recovering.

If you'd like to get something going, just set dates/times here and give it a go. 3rd Saturday as normal might be good. Maybe you can pick a place and just start letting people know. Some people might like a short drive after or something... pgermond, Skidmarc, photoguy, and Stroker Bob were trying to put some breakfast drives together a while back and may be interested. Try emailing them on CC. I'll try to attend if I can get away from another project in the works. Good Luck.

Keep us posted.

Duane, isn't it supposed to be third Saturday? I guess we are due for Folsom but Don was usually the one that contacted the "cafe". We were at Auburn Golf club last time (which is also pretty nice).

Hurry up and get better Don otherwise "the group" will have to have a FF build party at your place!

Hi Al,
Ugh. I fixed it. I have no idea where that came from. Too many work and club meetings in my head. Thanks. You are correct, 3rd Saturday of every month is when its normally held.

It would be fun to do something different, going somewhere different, with a short drive incorporated. Eat at 9:00, drive at 10:00 or something.

Uwe, Al,
Your thoughts or ideas?

I have checked with a couple of places: Paulettes in Grass Valley...the "vault" can hold 18 for breakfast and have sep checks. Would like a week notice for the vault. May be able to handle more in the main room but does not have lots of "tables" as opposed to booths.

There is also a place called "The Breakfast Club" in the area but I cannot speak for it.

Also talked to Brookfields in Roseville and they said no problem for about 30 on a Sat morning with some notice.

There is a lot of great rural highway out of Grass Valley: Hwy 20 out of Nevada City and Hwy 49 up through Downeyville and on up to Truckee city. Not sure about gas on the Hwy 49 run but the Yuba river must be running and the hwy runs adjacent to it.

I really do not know what is available out of Roseville.

Any others in the "group" with any suggestions?

P.S. I think our Nor Cal "group" is great. Still grinnin from the "Bash"

I'm up for it if we do it early - it's going to be getting hot soon and talking shop in the parking lot till 11 - 11:30 ain't gonna help things. We took a real nice ride in April leaving Brookfield’s in Rancho/I-80 at 8:30, drove out to Ione, had breakfast, looped around through Jackson, down 49, and back in Roseville by noon (just as everyone else was headed into the foothills.

My $0.02.... however, majority rules.

Phil,
Did you mean Highway 50? There is a Brookfields on 80 and 50 both as I'm sure you are aware...

And, where did you have breakfast and can they fit us if we had say 10 or more Cobras?

Duane,

My brain has shut down since retiring..... yes, Hwy 50. We ate at Rods and Rides, which is right across the street from City Hall in Ione. http://www.ridesandrods.com/rides_and_rods_cafe.htm The have a killer Sunday brunch, however, the 19th is Father's Day.

I'll give them a call and ask if they can accommodate us if I can get a count (heads, not Cobra's

What do they have on Saturday, the 18th?

Breakfast would be fine by all, I'm sure.

Wow.... that was quick! The link includes a breakfast and lunch menu. I'll call tomorrow and ask if they can take care of up to 20 on the 18th.... say around 9:30'ish.

Changed my mind, Phil's idea sounds real good. I will post his info over at FFCobra for the June Nor-Cal Breakfast if that works for everyone.
PS I'm getting pretty good on these crutches

Phil,
Looks like we are on own. I'm definitely in for the drive and breakfast in Ione. Some of the others may go with Don to the Towe Museum.

Where do you want to depart from and time?

Default Rods & Rides in Ione, per pgermond

Uwe,
Between Phil and Don, looks like you have something going now.
Phil is suggesting eating at the Rods and Rides in Ione. See his link above. It says "Where the Street Elite Meet... To Eat...." Sounds cool.

per Phil's note above...
- Leaving from Brookfields-Sunrise in Rancho at 08:30a.m?

pgermond, breadcrum, Don,

I sent out a direct email notification to the local NorCal list I have and for them to reply here so Phil knows to reserve more if needed.

Uwe,
See what you started!

Okay - we're set... Rods and Rides can accommodate us, all I need is a count. If you are interested, sign in and include any ride alongs so I can give them an approximation of how many of us to expect.

So far I have five -

Al and Kathy are in, cracked windshield and all!

At some point could you define the route for us anal types? And maybe set a speed limit so Don can keep up on his crutches.

8:30 am sounds to me like in the middle of the night for a Saturday. But I think I can handle it. Looking forward for a fun drive.

Phil,
Add John Marsey. He's riding up with me for the breakfast and some garage talk!
