Sat, July 15 Breakfast-Lost Thread?
Hey Gang,
Looks like our July 15 breakfast thread disappeared. Who is up for it, even if just for breakfast? Times awastin! Maurice suggested 8am. Could be home before sweat forms on your brows......
What's happening with the logo shirts? Where is Don? Might have to look at parkas and jackets instead!

I had the out car this morning and it wasn't bad.... as long as you're in the shade drinking something cold by 10:30 AM
If it's Mels, someone please refresh my memory with directions.
Thanks.

Al, Phil:
I miss the dry heat. I'm here in Maryland with less heat only 90 degrees but way more humidity; Yuck. Our evenings are definitely a blessing with the delta breeze coming in.
AUGUST DINNER DRIVE instead?
I asked Maurice online in a seperate thread to spread the word about putting together an August dinner drive like we did last year. Possibly a drive to Forrest Hill Ore Cart Inn or to the Italian place near Jackson like we did before that so many people liked. Maybe we could do this in lieu of the 3rd Saturday. I'll see if John/BOSS JBL or others from the Bay would like to join us. Those evening drivers are pretty sweet and a number of people have asked about it since. The place near Jackson with rear parking might be the ticket.

Duane,
Last year's evening outing was a blast in Jackson.... nail down a date and a place and we in. Enjoy thr humidity back east! Reminds me of SE Asia in the 60's.

Duane,
August dinner drive sounds great as long as it's not the 12th (race day). 5th, 19th, or 26th??... I hope?
Talk soon, John

Maurice, Jim, Al, John,
Good seeing you guys this morning - very nice temps in the early AM
In the "for what it's worth" category.... The manager at Mel's came over to our table and told us they are going to start having an evening cruise-in the 3rd Saturday of every month, and we are welcome (guess we look well behaved ). His plan is to rope of an area of the parking lot for participants to park their cars and hang out (he didn't have any details on times yet, but will have flyers soon). Might be a good spot to meet if our dinner plans materialize.

Nice to see cobra friends again. It's been 2 months for me. I believe the manager was referring to Harley's but I could be wrong....
Great morning.
By-the-by, I stopped by a small tuner shop in Auburn..."Car & Truck Pros" and they have a dyno in the floor and would welcome a group dyno day. Takes about 1 hour total per car from roll-on to roll-off for 3 pulls. Total $85.00 minus 20% for "cruise nite special". $145/hr for dyno tuning.

I could be wrong (I think that might have happened once), however, he knew we were driving Cobras, so...........
Seriously, as I recall he did mention Harley's, like between the Harley Shop and Mel's - possibly a joint effort.

I think he said cars and bikes together. This would be similar to the Elk Grove Harley Davidson Thursday night event. I hear the Elk Grove event is pretty good.
Saturday morning's temperature was perfect, but warm summer evening drives are fun too.
See you guys next time.

Steve / All,
With this heat, I'm sort of thinking late august or probably September now. We only do one of these a year it seems so we probably need to pick an evening with cooler weather. It makes it so much more fun and desireable. My Cobra has been sitting for over a month now.

Too hot during evenings... Ahhhhhh!
It was 109 at 5:30pm yesterday when I left work near Sac and looking like it will be 107 at 6pm today. This would not make for a good dinner drive if this heat keeps up.
Let's keep an eye on the temps over the next few weeks and if it does not let up, I'll post a September dinner drive note on NorCal Cobras. Thanks!

Good call Duane, however, if it's on the weekend of 9/9, I'll have to pass.
