Sacramento Area Meetings?

Is there any regularly scheduled meetings of NorCal members in the Sacramento area? Getting ready to pull the trigger (so to speak) on ordering a CSX 4000 and in another post noticed a number of your lived in Sacramento.

I am out in the Fair Oaks/Folsom area and would like to start establishing connections with other enthusiasts.

Thanks,

Bob

Bob,

I've been able to make a few meetings. Typically, the group gets together for breakfast on the (3rd?) Saturday of the month. I haven't seen any chatter about December yet, but I'm sure it's coming.

Ron, thanks for the response. See you are also into Porsche...

Guess that means I could bring my M5 to a meeting and not get asked to leave? ;-)

Bob:

I live 5 miles south of excelsior drag strip. i should be picking up my kit next week from Monterey. you are close and we may be able to help one another.

bdeutsch 12-06-2006 12:48 PM

sounds like a plan...interested in how you ended up selecting a kit versus a roller...

Thanks for the response,

Bob

P.S. There's a bunch of great Cobra guys here in NorCal! Welcome to the club!:)

I don't think we have a December meeting planned. It gets kinda cramped for the married guys and women. lol just kidding January should be the next breakfast.

billyboy 12-06-2006 10:27 PM

Hi there! Billyboy here. My Backdraft has no top or heater, but I will be at the next meeting!!! Let me know. There are three of us here in Sonora ( two Backdrafts, one Superformance). Who is the contact person for the club?

TM,
Yeah, everyone is kind of laying low for obvious reasons this month. If any of you meet for breakfast, I'll try and break away for an hour or so... Take Care. DC

pgermond 12-07-2006 05:27 PM

billboy,

This forum is the contact person. It's pretty loose.... whenever someone wants to get together it gets posted here (the NorCal forum). If the weather is decent next weekend (the third Sat of the month), I'll probably get out and go somewhere.

Let`s go, said the man of few words

Maurice

PS, Bill, come by for a look, and I`m sure at least 1 of us would offer up a ride

Where Go, What Do?

billyboy 12-09-2006 03:35 PM

I just pulled the sidepipes off my Backdraft. Having mufflers installed next week. I would still be there! Would I still be welcome in a Vette?!

jmarsey 12-10-2006 10:03 AM

I'll be at Tom Lucas's shop all day on Friday and Saturday. If some of you want to drop by Tom's after breakfast, that would be great.

We will be changing from the Arkansas / Craft “crackle-cam” to the new custom Alabama / Bennett “baby-cam.” Should be interesting.

Talk soon, John

decooney 12-10-2006 12:36 PM

John,
You might want to retract that idea... :) Are you paying Tom by the hour, or by the job? Could wind up to be a long day and interesting bill for a cam swap if you get the chatter-box crew stopping by. Never know, with all the interruptions...that cam could end up at 0 rather than 4 degrees advance too. Hahahahahaha.

Maybe we can stop by after it's installed... let us know the ETA for fire-up!

jmarsey 12-10-2006 01:21 PM

Duane,

Don't worry. all the critical stuff should be done before the potential happenings of a peanut gallery converge. I'm hoping we can get the actual swap done Friday with buttoning up Saturday morning. I will try to keep Tom focused. The good news is I can keep working when he gets pulled away. I will put up a chain on Friday with a sign that says "sorry, no time to bull $hit today. Baby cam being installed!"

I’m heading out to the garage now to start pulling the motor down. I will keep you posted.

Wish me luck,

John

Yeah, don't want to wake the baby till he's ready. Somehow I think baby brother is going to kick big brother's ass. :D

pgermond 12-10-2006 02:27 PM

Billboy,

You racked up to strikes right out of the gate - you are having mufflers installed on your Cobra so you will have to drive the vette?

decooney 12-10-2006 03:00 PM

where go, what do?

pgermond 12-10-2006 04:11 PM

Duane,

I don't have anything planned, just hoping for some sunshine and to get out. I may be driving to Davis on Wednesday to meet up with another Unique owner. We can zero in on something when it gets closer, or.......
