Default What's in a Name.

Hi Ed, Jim,

Just for reference, the original prefix for the Club is NorCal, no space or hyphen, etc, just NorCal. As you may already be aware, "NorCal" is commonly used in our area for various type clubs. If it's still open for consideration, here is a different look just for grins. I'm not sure what your embroidery shop can do, but I thought I'd throw another version at you just in case you are still working with it. Thanks for working on this for us all.

I don't care for the hyphen. I would be interested in buying a jacket and shirts when I finally get a Cobra.

They both look great! I vote for the second one with the script font.

Both look good and I like the script font just a tad more.

I noticed the subtle changes on the car in the 2nd one in script font. Different color marker lights with Silver thread bumper parts, correct ? , or is that just the lighting of the photo? Now you guys are getting down to the details - gotta love it!

First picture has silver marker lights (something Jim had asked me about), block letters, silver roll bar/trim and was made using 2 lighter blues than the second picture.

Second picture was made using 2 darker blues, yellow/gold for the marker lights and a darker silver for the roll bar and trim. In the finished version, you won't see the jump-stitch between the N and O.

If I can show you anything else, just let me know. Jim is first in line for his shirts unless Ed wants to fight him for the spot I emailed Jim the list of items that I currently offer and proposed pricing for them.

I've spent the last couple of days going through my suppliers catalogs and websites looking at different types of jackets. Obviously, what people here in the northeast may want is not exactly what you guys on the west coast may want. If you can give me an idea of what type of jacket you are interested in, I will see what kind of supply and price I can get. Are you guys looking for something very lightweight like a packable jacket? Something a little heavier with or without a lining?

We can always start a jacket thread if you don't want to bog this thread down with that discussion...

Duane,
You're right there were changes made. The examples all have a little something different going on. We can just pick one as it sits or we can take features from all to come up with a final choice.

Hi Jim,
First, many thanks from all of us to you guys for doing this. I'm having fun watching you create this stuff, and the fact that you are willing to go through a few prototypes to get the right one! As you know, not everyone will ever agree on anything. , so I would say if it comes down to it, the person who started it or created it might have to make the decision on the tie breaker for any particular design if it comes to that.

Just for grins, can you take another picture of the script font version stepping back a little further like you did for the other one. I keep seeing things like a darker windshield, etc, wondering if it was just the camera/lighting at the time of the picture or if the color of the car, thread, and other parts are atually darker or if its just that particluar photo. Lookin' Good you guys!

Duane, you got good eyes

Both of the newer pictures were taken from the same angle and lighting, so you are picking up the differences in the thread between the 2 logos. The car itself is embroidered in 12 steps. In each of the pictures, there are 2 different blues. The background of the windshield and the primary color for the body are part of the same step. I could possibly seperate them and use different colors, it would take me a little while to do that but not a major problem. All of the trim work around the windshield, nose opening, etc is also 1 step. In the first picture, I used a brighter silver, in the second I used a darker (gunmetal) grey thread. The first design has 6 colors in it, the 2nd has 7 (with the addition of the yellow/gold). It's a couple of minutes faster for me to embroider the design in 6 colors instead of 7 but I think the extra color gives it more dimension.

Honestly, if you guys want the car in something other than blue, it's no problem for me. I already offer the basic car embroidery in 7 standard colors and custom colors on request. If you want them all to look the same for consistancy, then it's better to stick with 1 set of colors. The other consideration would be if you want the logo on different color shirts - we sometimes have to substitute different colors or the design gets lost in the shirt.

I'm deferring to Jim on this since he is the one who approached me about doing the logos in the first place. We've been exchanging emails on this since November. I dropped the ball for a few weeks while I was processing christmas orders but I have the time now and I'll try whatever you guys want as long as I can figure out how to do it.

I like the second one, or maybe Duane can model it for us
Whatever!
Thanks Jim for all the work.

I would like it if it were available in a sew-on patch for a jacket. -John

Guys,
I've ordered a couple of sample shirts. I need to see them up close.
Once we settle on one we can set up an ordering process. There are options involved there as well. Oh no! More decisions to make! Ugh!

Uh.., yeah.., no. If that happened, Jim would have to start all over again when people started complaining for unexplained reasons that it somehow now looked much worse in person than it did in the photo.

Ok, didn't want anyone to think this issue was being ignored...

We had a machine break down which slowed us down for a few days. We just
finished the sample shirts Jim requested today. I'll run a hat with each logo
on it tomorrow and most likely ship them to him Wednesday.

Thanks for your patience everyone!
