The one by 50 is the one we'll be at, the patio is shaded and not in the direct sun there. The one near Mels is nice, but no shade. They'll figure that one out sooner or later.

Guys,
That was great! 8 Cobras, great drive, excellent lunch, breathtaking cool air and water right on the Lake. Absolutely perfect weather. Hopefully we'll get to see a few pics later on this weekend.

For me, it was right up there with one of the top three drives we've ever done. Thanks to everyone for making it.

Default Watching and waiting

It's fun to see the cobra clubs posting about the good times, but it sure makes it tough waiting on my engine "it's arriving next week..this is a recording". The second my build is done I'll be driving as well as reading, but til then keep up the posts so I can keep looking forward! My one meeting with the Norcal club was a blast

Huh? What trip to Tahoe?

I've been up in Lake County. Just back this evening. Sounds like you guys had a good time without me. Must have been gorgeous.

Let's see some pictures!

Default The Saturday drive was good luck!!!

Thanks to all the NorCal members who heartily welcomed us to the Saturday run. It was a spirited event with some stretches that were wide open throttle. Nothing like big horsepower rattling off the sides of the canyons!!! Cindi and I had a great time.
Now for the rest of the story!!!!
Cindi and I had plans to meet some friends at Harvey's so we left the group early to head into town.During the waiting time, Cindi gambled a little and I went to find the cigar shop. When I returned she had used up the cash and presented me with a chit from the slot machine worth a whole 25 cents. The obligatory "I gotta go to the bathroom" statement followed, with a " go ahead and play the quarter that I left you". How kind of her!!!
So I shopped around (smoking the cigar and drinking crown, of course) and found a likely machine. In goes the chit and I am good to go for a quarter. After the wheels spin for awhile they begin to fall into place.
The circle thing was the first tumbler to stop. The red seven was the second tumbler to stop and another circle thing was the third tumbler to stop.
I had hit a jackpot worth five hundred bucks with one quarter.
Now guys, ya gotta believe me that I am not much of a gambler and have never hit a jackpot worth over three gumballs. I just don't like to toss my money on a loser like slots.
It has to be the Nor Cal Cobra luck from participating in this drive. So if you ever get the chance to go for the cruise, who knows, you may be the one with the luck next time.

Mark & Cindi

P.s.: kicks some porsche a$$ on the way home!!

We were traveling in the Pacific NW the last three weeks (no, not in the Cobra). Sounds like we missed a fun one - Tahoe is a great destination.

I was up that way this last week for work and drove the Cobra over to Carson City. It was a great drive on Monday late evening, had the Highway 50 to myself. Got to straighten out most of the corners.

While I was there a Corvette club showed up at my hotel. They wouldn't let me play though.

Had a great drive back on Thursday.

If we plan far enough in advance, I would live to drive up that way again with the club.

BTW, I saw a nice Daytona on my last day up there. We cruised side by side down Carson Street for a couple of blocks.
