Need some ring ad pinion help.....

Anyone ever done a ring and pinion swap? I have a Ford 8.8 strait axle in my FFR Cobra that I want to swap out to 3.27 that I have laying around. I have all the tools to do the job, I just don't know how to do it (yet). What do I need to do the swap as far as washers, gauges, seals, oil, etc. I have a 12 ton hydraulic press, tons of hand tools, and air tools in my garage. If you help me mabey I can help you with something on your car? I would like to start this on an up comming Saturday soon-John

Here's a great write-up on the 8.8 do's and don'ts. You have to have a subscription to view the whole thing, but it's worth the $7 for the trial! I used the trial the first time I went to the site and then a month and a half later found myself there to read another article so I just did the year. The site has alot of DIY type articles and lots of valuable info!

Hoof, the corral link you posted is great! It has everything you need to know and no subscription!

I'm not a fan of the 5.0 mag one though... too much left unsaid.

It's not a problem!

I wish I were coming home soon! As of right now, June 1st is the date! What's the date.... UGH.. JULY STILL!!! haha I'll be home on vacation in November though. Who would have ever thogut I'd be going "HOME" for vacation! haha
