Question David.....did you get your car today? We need details and pics!!

Well after you got a ride in Jdog's car we knew it wouldn't be long before you had a car of your own. You mentioned something about "picking it up Thursday" ?

So fess up buddy, where are the pics and details?!?

Arrrgh! I've been sooo busy I haven't had time to post, sorry bout that. Yes, we picked her up Thursday and I've been sorting a few things out. Here's a couple bad pictures after putting the bullit wheels on (9" frt, 10.5" rr). It had just come off the jacks, so the suspension isn't settled..

The car had been basically sitting for the last year and a half and the pressure switch for the brake lights went bad - just figured that out yesterday - so I'm switching to a regular switch at the pedal. The rear coilovers were adjusted all the way down - easy fix. The headlights were loose in the buckets - another easy fix, and so on.

Ken (streetrodpainter) did the paint & it's gorgeous! Someone made the custom dash. It's solid African Ribbon Mahogany and pictures don't do it justice. I'll be selling the Street Performer seats and already have Cobra Roadster SS's for it. I also need to sell the Cobra wheels and I have two Yokohama 275/17's to unload that are like new. The car just turned 1800 miles.

I'll get some better pictures this weekend. Now it's time to continue on the insurance hunt..

Cheers,

David -

I wish I knew.. From what we can guess it looks like we bought it from the builders ex (he was never mentioned) and she did not know a whole lot about the car. It's a fresh 5.0 with EFI and mild mods. It's running a cam, that's for sure, but I have no idea which one. Everything on the car was new or remanned and there were not many short cuts anywhere. It also has an IRS rear end! We got a batch of receipts with it, but it was incomplete. Several big ticket items were missing. Our best guess is that the builder spent somewhere between 33 - 35 putting it together - not counting labor of course.

I know that car. It used to be owned by a guy named Tag. It's the first Cobra I ever got a ride in. He lived two blocks down from me. He and his Wife were at the 2006 Cobra bash with the car. Ex huh? I guess they got a divorce? Too bad. Yes, he did the dash himself. Great woodworker. Stock 5.0 except for the cam. I don't know which one either. He just put it in for proper rumble. Very expensive paint and body work. It's perfect. All the mounting points are hidden. I see you swapped out the 93 Cobra wheels. Good move. I had them too and didn't like them on the car also-John

The new wheels look awesome in person. I'm really happy with them. We managed to track down the engine work that was done. Now I know where to take it from here. It runs sweet! Thanks for the comments.

Cheers!

I thought I recognized the dash, yes Tag and his son built the car. The funny part is that I have FFR-4000 and that car is FFR-5000 and we live 5 min. from each other in Carmichael.

Yes, jdog, I do!, and then some.. Those rides that Marsha & I got are what sealed the deal with her. She loves the car, and it's something we will enjoy for a long, long time!

Dave,
Glad Jdog and I could help seal the deal. The car looks great. I hope to see you and Marsha with the car at the September breakfast.
Can't make this months breakfast as my car is going into the shop over at FE Specialties tomorrow for an annual checkup.

There you are! Thanks a million for haulin Marsha. Everytime I looked back from Jdogs car all I could see was Marsha's big ear-to-ear grin! I think she loves these cars as much as I do. I picked up a copy of Bill Cosby's 200MPH, which I remember listening to as a 10 year old, and we sat last night and listened to it & laughed our butt's off..
