Baaaaaaack!
Hello Norcal Cobra enthusiasts! Sorry to have been off the scene for so long but personal problems had put my Cobra build on hold.....til now!! I'm back in the process...some custom made parts being waited on... and a LOT of adaptations being made by yours truly..the paramount amateur shadetree mechanic AND... I spent hours working with the local DMV folks in preparation for January 2, 2008, parked myself in a sleeping bag at the DMV door at 6 a.m. for a 9 a.m. opening time, filed for my SB100 number and at NOON the staff there called to say they'd gotten through at about 11:30 to Sacramento and had my number YES!!! (By then it was already past #300!). PHEW!!
The body is almost ready for engine compartment paint. I'm waiting on parts to complete the fuel system installation, electrical will be next, finally a driveshaft and chassis dyno. Going to change the open rear end for a posi after much deliberation..
My son wanted me to paint it Lamborghini Orange but I think that wouldn't be very easy on the eyes for long. My leaning right now is towards an off-white with royal blue racing stripes....we'll see haha! Hope to have this buggy on the road by April or May. I'll order a camera battery charger and have some more build photos up on the site soon.
Thanks for remembering me Ed, and the advice on the air filter setup.
Ride safely!
