Default WSCB track day helmet

I just received my SA 2000 helmet from Summitt Racing for track day. Probably the best price on an SA 2000 helmet around. About $150.00 . Some folks thought that you could use a motorcycle helmet to the track, which is untrue. So just passing this along to help folks avoid dissapointment later. -John

Hey Ron. I don't know about that. I didn't want to chance getting there and no being able to drive because I didn't have one. I'm sure I'll use it in the future for other things as well so I'm glad I got it. I'd let you use mine but I'm running in the same group as you so it will be on my head. -John

not to barge in on your thread, but it really is wise to buy your own helmet.
I 'borrowed' from TDE (Texas Driving Experience) when i did a couple of track days, borrowed from a couple of other people a couple of times in Tulsa, and really.....
somebody else's sweaty helmet, besides it not fitting correctly--- ick!
worth buying your own if you think at any time in the future you might do a track event a couple of times a year.
Besides, they look cute with little stickers and things on them.
Kristen
(borrowing is fine if you have to, but consider getting one that fits YOU if you're going to do this a few times!!)

Kristen,

I had the same exact experience at Fernley in 06.

Sweaty and way too tight. Last loaner they had.
