Its been a long time coming........
Well I have had this car for 7 years now and it is finally running. The anticipation has been overwhelming. Just 6 months ago I found out we were having our first child and it turns out to be a boy. It has been a very exciting time but it also was a deadline for the car. I have been working on it most nights and weekends religiously and it is paying off. There is still a lot to do but at least it is running.
For those of you that I have met, I am the guy in Redwood City on Grand Street running air tools and welding too late at night.
Here are a few specs on the car
Hunter Cobra
96in wheel base (for more stability)
Twin Turbo 351 wta intercooler
Accel Gen7 individual coil
6Speed Tremec
Here is one photo to get you going.
I want to do some more work before I put on a lot of pics.
Hope everyone approves.....
Kevin

Approves? Who cares what others think. It's your car and that makes it great! I think it's very cool in a thinking outside of the box kind of way-John

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I am building my dream with this car. Like I said before it has been 7 years and the plan has not changed one bit except for a couple of little things. When I first bought it everyone thought I was crazy but, I still built it anyway. Who says you can't have over 1000hp, you can always take your foot out of it. I love performance and I have been down the track in the mid 9's in a mustang. Having driven 3 or 4 different cars with this much power you have to just be careful and don't get stupid. I ve been drag racing since 1989 so this is a combination of drag and road racing. I plan on getting a lot of seat time at the local tracks, Thunder Hill, Infineon, Laguna Seca. Don't get me wrong here guys. I know this is not a great car to road race. TT is not the best way to go. It's the way I want it to be.....Sure I may never use 6 th gear but thats ok too.
You are right (Got the bug) I am trying to fill every void in the front of this car. When you guys see it you will think the same thing.
I can give a few more specs.
Engine:
SVO block,LA billet crank, billet rods, 8.5 pistons
Solid Roller big lift and duration. Turbo specs
Yates heads, Jesel Rockers,belt drive,
Twin Turbonetics 60-1 Twin Racegates and a Godzilla BOV
Meziere remote electric water pump
Multi stage boost control and methanol injection
Custom alternator location(on top of cam gear)
I custom made all parts and put it together in the garage.
I wish I knew how to make the pics larger so you could see them.
Kevin

I made a few changes on the DFI this weekend and now the car has a much better idle. It was hard on the eyes when it first was running. The more I work with the program the better it gets. After I finish the brake reservoirs, and the final wiring of the harness of the ecu it should be ready to move under its own power. I am reworking the footboxes from the original fiberglass type to allow for more room in the interior.
Anyone have experience with tuning an Accel Gen 7 and turbo's? The last car I tuned we just driven around and tuned on the fly, but this car will probably need to go to the dyno for the best tune.

Hi Kevin,
We met one time, recently, at your friend's house, the friend who's building an blue/white FFR. I'm his neighbor with the hopefully-soon-to-be-home Kirkham. Congrats on finishing your Hunter and best wishes with your new baby boy.
More sleepless nights to come.

It's Rodney right. Thanks for the reply. I can't wait to see your project. When do you expect to get it home?

Kevin,
I'm not sure how close you are to Diamond Springs, but Dave at AutoTrend EFI in Diamond Springs (east of Sacramento) is an absolute guru when it comes to Gen. VII EFI. He is a top notch individual as well.
Check out his site or give him a call and tell him Chris w/ the Boss Cobra said hello

Yep, it's Rodney. Would like to see the Hunter some time. A twin turbo? Wow!
Your buddy and my neighbor must be very close to the road as well. I may have seen him yesterday driving down the street. Not sure.
Well, if all goes smoothly, my Kirkham could be home next week. I'm crossing my fingers. It has taken a lot longer (and more money) than I originally thought.

Hey, the exhaust set-up is leaking out. I do have an experimental set-up that I am trying and so far I like it a lot.
Give me a few more days and I can put up a photo. I don't want to spoil the surprise. That should get you guys going
Everynight after I get home I've been just trying to make it idle better and get some tip-in adjustments made.
