Forecast for Saturday looks nice
Looking at Accuweather, it might not be as hot as we first thought for the drive. With the river and delta breeze, it could be perfect heading to Rio Vista. Real Feel shows 72-76 degrees between 10am-2pm

Count us in!
Sorry for the late response, but after a week in Disneyland with the kids recovering is slower than expected. Sounds like a great place. We will have the kids with us, so there will be 4. Not sure about the drive yet. See everyone soon.

Latecomer
Dang it! Sounds like a lot of fun! I'll be in Santa Cruz over the weekend so can't come in any vehicle, let alone the one I'm still working on to promote roadworthiness...the big lunking hulk of a cobra wannabee WC...
Hope to see you all again sometime soon

If you are going on the drive, you might want to get there for food before 09:00a.m. Takes a while to get food.
DRIVE DEPARTURE: Should be ready to depart on the drive by 09:45a.m.

Drive Notes / FYI.
My Drive Notes / FYI if anyone wants to use them. I'll bring handouts at breakfast in Folsom. DC
Before getting on Jefferson Blvd onto South River road make sure you have fuel and your bladder is empty.
Hwy 50 West, pass downtown, while crossing the River stay in your right lane to Jefferson Exit
Exit on Jefferson and stay to your left hand lane.
Left onto Jefferson and follow Jefferson to the 2ND South River Road exit (not the 1st South River Road exit) DO NOTE TAKE “Raley Field”, keep going.
There is a 2nd South River road exit (Go Left)
The road will force you off of the Levy in a couple of miles, T-bones into Gregory.
Left at Gregory (Stop Sign)
You will have a 1/2 mile jog right next to the levy (Great place to air it out a little)
Then you will go through an underpass and pop back up on the river road.
Continue South on South River Road toward Rio Vista.
You will pass several wineries and virtually no gas stations or bathrooms.
I suggest using the gas stations when you first turn left onto Jefferson.
Continue to Take South River Road to Rio Vista
It’s easily 32 Miles to Rio Vista on the River road.
Stops: Town of Locke – look for signs. Worth driving through it real quick…
Locke – detour / drive through (old Chinese town, leaning little buildings)
DESTINATION: Town of Rio Vista / Main Street, stop wherever, ask people…
• Foster's Bighorn is located at 143 Main St. Rio Vista, CA 94571
Note: Restaurant Bar with lots of old scary dead animal heads on walls!
• Main Street overlooking the Delta, Stop and look for “Humphrey”!
• Spirit of America Team / Craig Breedlove’s place
Ex-world record speed holder 1964, 1965 (old 1913 Ford Dealer / shop)

Nice Drive!
Everyone make it back okay?
Three of us split Rio Vista to get fuel real quick, and tried to catch up but the pack moved ahead right after that jam at the bridge let up. Ron, Pat, and I took the River road back then from River Road to Hood/Franklin to I5 back to Sac area. We were not sure if the rest of you kept going on 12 to Lodi or took the river road back???
Next time we do another larger group meetup like this, we'll definitely need to plan out the places to eat and times planned in advance so nobody gets left behind.
The morning drive down was amazing, and inredible weather!

I just spoke with a few others. Apparently different folks got caught up in that bridge hold up and were split up, some went 12, others went the river road, etc. Man, we need to do that one again sometime, but we need to go earlier so we get that nice cool morning air on the delta! : )

Great drive, perfect weather, and great group of people. What more could you ask for.
John and Cheyl, thanks for setting up breakfast at Mooney's. We may have overwhelmed them a little, but the food was great. And you guy's would make a great waiter & waitress together.

Thanks Danny,
Cheryl and I had a great time, we hope everyone did too.
Now that the weather is warming up maybe we should decide whether to try to do both venues on the same day. Duane has a point that on a ride day we should leave early and plan a lunch along the way or we should plan a breakfast only.
During the winter months no one really wants to drive after the breakfast so it's not an issue.
Mooney's was very grateful for us choosing their restaurant, this time.
The photographer will sent me the website that his pictures will be on and I'll pass it on to all of you via NorCal Cobra's website.

Having breakfast, then driving an hour and a half only to sit down and wait for lunch seems to me to be a waste of good driving time? (or lawn time...or whatever!)
I left my house at 8:30 drove 20 minutes - sat at the restaurant for a couple of hours, then drove for an hour and a quarter, then sat at a restaurant for an hour and a half then had to haul ass home in order to make a date, arriving home at about 3:30!
Besides, I just can't eat that much!
Therefore, I agree with Duane in that we should decide on either breakfast or lunch, get that planned and out of the way, then do a drive!

Better planning next time, that's for sure...
Yeah, if the drive is the objective of the day, it's definitely better to revolve the plan around the drive vs. revolving it around the places to eat. I got to breakfast well before anyone and both Danny and I tried to order three times only to find more time wasted not being able to order. It made no difference to get there extra early to Moonies as we found out. The first group held up not being able to order held up the second group which then had the late arrivals eating really late and not able to leave the breakfast place to join the drive - which was a bummer.
Oh well, that's why it pays to have a solid starting time and departure time to get going vs. people just showing up whenever and wanting to go on the drive... I sorta knew this but we tried the casual approach which never really works. As they say, plan or plan to fail. Hahahahaha.
It was a great drive once we got going though!
