Sadly, Cobra kit insurance in Ontario is a bear and it's much tougher to find for home-built cars.
It's been a few years since I looked into this question, but I think your choices boil down to this: - your current insurer for your other cars, home, etc.
- Zehr for professionally built cars (like my SPF)
- Hagerty/Lant Custom Wheel Plan for kits 15 years or older
- facility association (your last hope)
There once was a State Farm agent named Brad Oesch who was insuring Cobra kits, but I don't know if he's still in the business.
You can try some other brokers with collector car programs -- such as Whetter Oaklin or Crosslands General -- but when I spoke with them a few years ago, they had no interest in covering Cobra kits.
There's a new collector car program available in Ontario now. I've never contacted them so don't know if they'll cover Cobra kits. You might want to call them and post back what you find out for everyone's info.
