Default GT40 Mustang EFI Intake Fab

I did notice that a few folks are running EFI with the GT40 Mustang intake plenums. You might consider a more period correct look under the hood with a little metal fabrication. I am putting this in my 64 Fairlane when it is finished. If I had more headroom in there I would definitely make those tubes longer.

Nice. Are you doing the machining yourself? Do you have a Bridgeport? I too live on the pennisula and would love to see your Fords.

In my shop a Bridgeport is a Street in University Place.

I did cheat and buy one of the spacers on ebay. The other was hacked out with the drill press and the dull end mill in the picture. It awaits further finishing and planing of the gasket surface.

My only Ford is the Fairlane and you are welcome to drop by when I'm not out walking the waterfront at Pt Defiance with the spousal unit or helping out my buddy with his cancer recovery. Almost always home on weekends unless something breaks at the kid's houses.

I do have the possibility of a small mill and lathe setup by Prazi that my buddy is giving me to fix up several others he has.

the Fairlane and a bunch of other stuff I have built repaired or restored. http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y237/w2zero/

How do you mount the throttle body to that? Are you still going to use the GT40 Upper?

No GT40 upper, it is butt-ugly at best in the later ones in my opinion. The part I am making is to replace the whole upper plenum with an oval air cleaner shape and weld the TB transition to the passenger side of it. The GT40 lower manifold and the throttle body won't know the difference. I may lose a tiny bit of lower end torque but will pick up some top end where the EFI is a tad weak, both compared to a carbureter.
