Dampish "get-away"
Zderf left a message on the machine last night saying, "I need a get-away". So we decided on a Cobra run to my cabin on Lake Bosworth up near Granite Falls. Some of the roads to get there are Northwest car club tour staples like Machias Cutoff, OK Mill Rd, and Newberg Rd. They're twisty, deserted, and, except for the occasional deer, a blast to drive. The sun was out all the way up there and it looked like it was going to be a gorgeous day. Unfortunately, Granite Falls is just about ground zero in the "convergence zone", so if there's any rain to be found...it finds us...like today. Luckily, the only things that got wet were the custom fitted car covers as we sat on the deck under the picnic table umbrella watching the lake go by and solving most of the world's problems whilst sipping Mooseheads & HefeWizens and eating wonderful, warm, crispy, artery clogging, Red Apple Market fried chicken. All in all, a very, very nice day. I hope you all got out for a cruise today too.
